BEIRUT, Lebanon (CNN) -- A massive bombing in Beirut on Wednesday killed anti-Syrian Lebanese parliamentarian Antoine Ghanem, who is believed to have been the target of the attack, a high-ranking Lebanese official confirmed to CNN.

It may just be the paranoia in me, but does anybody else find it interesting that Mr. Bush, the beloved President, has taken the time to comment on the spate of assassinations in the region? The notion of America causing instability in the region is none too fantastical, especially in the light of the almost inevitable Iran invasion. And Syria will no doubt be after that.

I might be wrong however. The assassinated was part of the Phalange party, and they have many enemies within the Palestinian refugee camp. Especially after Ariel Sharon used a Phalange militia to murder 2500 Palestinians in Lebanon in the late 60s.
