I think will cell phone use on the rise, competition for home phone use is getting more intense. I think it's a great idea, but aren't there plenty of free services that allow you to have voice conversations over the internet already?

Yeah, there's several things like Skype that you can use. This one is different because you still talk on a regular phone, rather than on a computer microphone, and it works just as well with someone who does not have the service.
