Wow I can't believe he said that!! This is a pretty shocking fact. They will probably say he has some false memory problem.

Greenspan has nothing personally to lose by telling the truth at this stage. As the realities behind the "peak oil" situation become increasingly clear, more heavyweights will come clean. By that stage the course of history will be set irrevocably. I personally think that course is already set irrevocably. This oil problem is going to lead to a reassertion of the values that made cave men great. Civilization and humanity are poised for a giant leap into a new dark age.

It's about time the truth comes out, however I'm not surprised at all. I been saying this for the last 4 years to my peers. I have a co worker who's a Marine and he has always denied this, now I have something to back up my claims..The only reason we invaded Iraq was to control the Oil terrain and take out saddam, as he was getting in the way of our greedy plans. We now have taken control of the plants and all production..now all we need is an american-iraq leader to make the transition for the oil companies, so they can work at full force and steal the natural resource.

thank you Mr. greenspan for telling the truth!

Thats what I was thinking. He is 81 years old and I guess he wanted to get it off his chest before he dies. Its not like anyone intelligent will get a surprise.

Maybe the media will spin it and say he is senile. That would be fun to watch, in a tragic kind of a way.

Well, surprise, surprise. It was obvious from the beginning, but now with Greenspan coming out in the open with this, I wonder how the neocons are going to cover this one up?

There is a larger thread about this here, we should use that one really.

they will try to destroy his credibility saying things like, "He's old and bitter", or "He has become insane". something irrational like that. For the record, I voted for Al Gore, I always vote democrat. I find that here in california, it's really hard to talk to republicans on the war, because they have already set their beliefs from 5 years ago, so you can't argue that. but with something like this, how will they continue to deny the reason for the invasion?
