There are NUMEROUS inconsistancies with the film Zeitgeist, I would take the time to mention them but I actually found a nice website that has some pretty good points you might want to check out.

www.carewinnipeg.com...

And btw, don't let the movie trick you in it's decisive way of jumping around from topic to topic, the Zodiac is Greek and has nothing to do with Ancient Egyptians. If anything the 2nd and 3rd parts of the movie more than prove (to me) the Bible and the End Times is inevitably true.

Your very sad... a well made refute? Point to some evidence and sources of the video before you make claims such as those. Most Christians don't bother argueing with ignorance because people bring up false claims and out of context ideals that fit they're ideology. Sad that you believe it's biased views, most of which came from secondary sources.

Interesting thing about Zeitgeist…

The entire first third of the movie states that the bible is based on nothing but constellations, the sun, and the zodiac in general. Basically discrediting that Jesus ever existed and the Bible is not really based off of him, yes? Yet.. the end of the movie states that the government is working towards chipping us all and forming a one world government. Interesting how the bible this movie claims to debunk already predicted these chips and the one world government. It ALSO predicted men coming against the bible, just like Zeitgeist did.

Moral of the story: nothing zeitgeist says is something that wasn’t already known.

Zeitgeist also speaks of how the media (movies, tvs, radios, magazines, ect) control us and we should do anything we can to basically avoid all this in order to increase our intelligence. Zeitgeist is a movie, is it not? While the bible, which Zeitgeist did NOT discredit, already predicted everything Zeitgeist said, and is NOT in the form of a movie. Seeing as Zeitgeist discourages any form of media, it should include itself as part of that media, thus making the bible a far better source to go to for TRUTH.

Here is an excellent, in depth rebuttal to the movie. It is very comprehensive. Zeitgeist Considered

Enjoy.

I have been comming across quite a few zeitgeist fans and Christians debating, and so far haven't heard any strong Christian rebuttals for this movie. In a personal debate that I was obliged to witness, a respected Christian theologian that I know personally and who is also a pretty strong apologist, had no strong points in his defense against this movie.

The main reason why zeitgeist is false and poorly researched is that it has zero knowledge at all about pagan religion. I find many errors on that video and it has been debunked many times and it has already been discussed many times here in ATS. Perhaps you might want to look at the videos on my sig.

This movie I think for the most part presents truth. The origional pagan gods are our true gods and there is a global conspiracy to try and prevent us from gaining the powers of our mind. Much of this information has been kept secret for centuries. It is timely that movies like this are coming out to expose the lies of Christianity and other monotheistic religions. The new world order will not be successful but that doesnt mean we should not fight it. We should not give up on the enemy until it is completely destroyed.
See www.exposingchristianity.com for more information and also this site is probably where this movie got a lot of its information.

They say ancient beliefs all had saviors born on dec 25. so that the audience connects it with jesus being born on christmas so they will think christianity copied other realigions. Christianity does not even say the exact time jesus was born. christmas is just a time that we recently decided to celebrate his birth so dec 25 has no connection to other religions.

its all propoganda

Rebuttals? No sources cited in that film and that is scholarly work, eh? If it was an 8th grade research paper, it would be handed back to the student.... What else you got?

Most of the stuff in Zeitgeist comes from discredited sources like Acharya S. It has been rebutted here and here and notes from Biblical scholar Ben Witherington here.

As to the claim that Christianity is nothing but an amalgam of other religions in the ancient world, the most detailed available is located here and details 35 separate ancient deities and rebuts the notion they had any connection to Christianity's origin. From the same site is a rebuttle of the Christ Myth notion here.

This should serve to effectively @itch-slap Zeitgeist.

Here's another link to a Christian author, John Feakes, who has put together a detailed rebuttal of the movie.

It's clear to me who made us

One thing you're not considering is that Christ was with God from the beginning. So when the passage uses the term "us", that in not inaccurate or some indication that there's more than one God.

And why is it inconceivable that God has a head, and arms, and legs. Would He need a penis? Probably not, but then.. he said "in our image," not make and exact copy.

Revelations was written at a time when Christians were being persecuted. It was written in code.

That is completely untrue. There is a large debate on who wrote Revelation, but the writer (John) makes it quite clear who he was from the very beginning.

Revelation 1:9
I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

John the Beloved, Apostle of Christ, was banished to the Isle of Patmos by Roman Emperor Domitian, which is where John received the words of Christ and the visions written in Revelation.

It was not written in code, and was written by the aposlte of Christ, John the Beloved.

i found it funny that many people will rattle off little "facts" from zeitgeist without checking them out, yet the christians are the mindwashed ones who will believe anything.
The whole "religion" part of the movie was really just a reason to stir up controversy to get more people to watch it. The only difference between a christian quoting the bible and someone else quoting zeitgeist is that the person quoting the bible does not pretend like he is saying something original or smart.
The film makes a very big error in the first part, it is titled religion and then really only goes on to bash christianity. That would be like me saying conspiracy theories are all garbage because of the charlie sheen interview hoax.
Here is a break down of what zeitgeist is.
Zeitgeist
Lies lies lies lies CONSPIRACY CONSPIRACY CONSPIRACY CONSPIRACY!!!!
Zeitgeist 2
Money is a lie it is just to control you through Debt. So if you want to fix this you have to give what money you have to the venus project.

I know I have several postings here already, but the more posts I have the more privileges on the site, so I'm posting replies as I read.

Anyway.. we do know the date of Christ's birth. Again, it's recorded in the bible but only in the description of events that occur around His birth. He was born on Sept 11, 3 B.C.

You can check the facts, but the quickest way to find them would be to go to this site, or good "Christ born September 11."
