Questions on the Russian Republic

Are we seeing the rebirth of the old USSR,with Putin as a new kind of Nikita Khrushchev or Leonid Brezhnev? Do you think the surrounding Republics will eventually be reabsorbed by Russia?

An interesting question. I, for one, am not the best person to answer it though. Will be interesting to see what responses you get.
