I'm trying to train myself to astro project. I've been using various monroe binural-beats on my ipod. I'm hoping someone can point me to some other useful mp3's than help induce this.

Have you checked out BrainWave Generator?

www.bwgen.com...

That's a slick little app that will let you use presets for the task you're looking for and even output them to MP3 so you can play them on your ipod. I think mostly though, music kind of distracts when you're trying to clear your mind.

I tend to sway away from any audio, for inducing OOBE, I always have the idea that, once you managed to OOBE with audio, you become dependent on it, and won't be able to induce OOBE without it.

However, I'm not sure if this true or not, I recall someone say this isn't so, and if DONE properly, you can slowly become less dependent on the audio as you progress, until you can OOBE by yourself.

I can't help you with OOBE, but I did recall one I had very vividly, other than a clear mind that night (I had a bad night, and didn't want to think of anything), but yeah, as I went to bed, I focused on continous looping beat I heard outside, I believe it was the sound of a park car engine running, and fell a sleep, after a series of event, I managed to OOBE.

So my cheap alternate, but probably effective advice is, find a natural or reoccurring rhythm then you can focus and become attune to, and let your body play its course, if your lucky, you might OOBE. I say lucky, because thats how I managed to do it, however, I believe I was on the right path, I just had to finish it somehow..

Well Good Luck

I don't astral project, but for deep relaxation I like to turn on a small fan I have, pointed away from my body of course

I find the white noise really helps concentration with breathing to begin with and so on...And its only a small motor, so its barely noticeable but just there enough...

I also find it really easy to relax deeply if its continually raining outside, again, that consistent background noise helps me

Hope this is useful

Peace

brainwave generator works dude, but be patient, and be careful cuz sometimes you can start getting uncontrolled OBEs. I've never had a full OBE with the program, but it's the closest I've come since I actually had one about a yea ago. I get really close, but my body jerks and I snap back, and I dunno it's just something personal that I think most people wouldn't have trouble with. I tend to twitch in unfamiliar or uncomfortable situations, and going OBE is both at first. Plus, I think I'm being blocked astrally by something. Maybe I'm just not ready to go OBE again... and maybe a lot of people aren't. I'm telling you, even if you do go OBE, use the ability sparingly...because we're in this body for a reason, and constantly leaving the body (even just that one experience I had, which was the best experience of my life) changes your perception and your cognative process, makes you really detached...especially if you are not really ready for it. All I can say is be careful, but also try bwgen.com, and have a bit of patience. Don't try it for a week and throw it aside. There's a reason it's called "entrainment".
