Northwest Airlines provided information on millions of passengers for a secret U.S. government air security project soon after the Sept. 11th terrorist attacks, raising fresh concerns among some privacy advocates about the airlines' use of confidential consumer data.

This is just great. I wish I could say I'm surprised at this but unfortunately I'm not. It says that credit card numbers, addresses, phone numbers, and who knows what else was probably given to NASA. Thank God I've never flown on a plane before. After hearing about this, I won't be flying anytime soon.

I read that article earlier. I'm glad I haven't flown anywhere since I was a minor, so hopefully my privacy wasn't invaded too badly. I think that the sharing of passenger information with the government was the first step toward the risk assessment thing they want to do now for US citizens before they can board a plane.
