Sadly, I heard about how the OnStar system could be used for spying in 1996 while I was a mechanic. I wish I could remember what the deal was, but it
went alot deeper than just spying and stuff. I remember there were alot of objections to the new OBDIII systems as well (the ones that can be shut
down remotely). I hate gas power, but it seems anymore that if you don't want anyone deciding what you are or are not going to do, you have to use
nearly obsolete technology such as carbs and stuff... quite sad, IMHO.
