Chavez: U.S. Trying to Turn Venezuela's Military Against Him

www.foxnews.com

Chavez, a former army lieutenant colonel who survived a short-lived 2002 coup, said his domestic opponents are collaborating with the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency to spur another putsch.

"The conspiracy has already begun. The messages are circulating in the barracks. The hand of the CIA, the empire, is behind this," Chavez said on his weekly radio and television program. "They are trying for a coup."

Hugo Chavez seems to be getting more and more paranoid about the US ousting him from power from some CIA born coup plot, ethier this guy is super paranoid or just hungry for media attention, his name seems to pop up in the headlines every week for some reason or another, when nothing really seems to be happening there.

Are you sure those are the only two options? I mean come on, this guy has a reason to believe such things. The US has been against Chavez for awhile. He should be worried about an invasion. Calling him paranoid about a coup is like calling a rape victim paranoid of dark alleys.

Chavez is probably having problems with keeping people content in Venezuela... Probably half or more of the population in Venezuela does not like him, and the numbers of those hwo are discontent with him are increasing. Of course he has to claim that it is "because the U.S. are turning his military and his people against him"....

Here is a better question I pose..

Do you have proof the CIA isn't doing this..

Until then... All I have to say is IRAN... Remember that or are you people going to say the US had nothing to do with Iran in the late 70's?

Here is a better question i pose...

Do you have proof that it is not the people of Venezuela who are changing their minds more and more?....

Until then...All I have to say is look at history and tell me people do not change their mind on their own...

I am curious where you get your assertions from. If it is any US media outlet, of course they would lead us to believe the Venezuelan people aren't happy. The US doesn't like him. Just like every other goverment leader the US has disliked, they paint this picture of the people hating their lives in that country because of all the atrocities commited by the leader.

No, i have seen and posted original videos, many of them in spanish, of what is really happening in Venezuela, not the rigged "English" versions from Ireland and other "socialist/communist/revolutionary" webstites or groups...

Demonstrations have happened in Venezuela where as many or maybe more Venezuelans take to the streets to demonstrate against Chavez than the Chavistas can gather, and Chavez himself has said that noone will take him out of office even if all the necessary votes are gathered asking him to quit from office... of course the "English" version of the events never give a translation in English of what Chavez has said in his native language....

I have also spoken with Venezuelans who come to the U.S. to study and most tell you me, at least most of those I have met, that they are against Chavez and Chavez is bringing down their country instead of helping it.

Well I will have to do some searching on ATS cuz I would like to see some of this. I do not know much about Venezuela except what major media broadcasts. And I know they aren't very reliable.

Let me help here a little:

The CIA's Attempts to Destabilize Venezuela

CIA Announces New Mission in Venezuela and Cuba

Former CIA Agent Affirms Possibility of Chavez’s Assassination in Venezuela

It sure happened it the past.

And I am sure that there are CIA agents in Venezuela as we speak.

They do not want to jump, when the Empire tells them to, and that of course means they are a part of the EVIL TRINITY of rouge states, which deserve to be either bombed to stone age, or isolated from the resto of the world. Why? Because the government of Venezuela is not pro-American, pro-business one. Now, I am not saying that Chavez is a saint - but compared to death and destruction, which happened after the rotten "democratic" process took place in South America with help of the United States - he actually IS a saint. How many countries has Venezuela invaded in last ten or fifteen years? How many has United States? I think that speaks for itself and explains pretty much who the bigger fish are, trying to eat the small ones.
