surely in this day and age there are terror drills pretty much every week somewhere in the US.I understand the concerns due to other events having taken place on terror drill days, like mentioned above-but many drills have taken place without terror attacks at the same time.
I don`t rule out the involvement of the "intelligence"community in some of the attacks, but I would have thought they may try to use a different type of smokescreen for the next major attack,if they are involved.

It is not surprising that generally most civilians fear the military due to a lack of understanding. Yet it is these very people that would instantly become arm chair generals and demand why we were not prepared, should such an event occur. Not to mention the scare tactics founder by George Soros of all people. Oh imagine the outcry if such counter propaganda was clearly funded by a Conservative sympathizer. To sum it up, move along, nothing interesting to see here. These drills and preparations happen far more often than you think and have been going on long before most of us were born.

Couldn't have said it better myself. You know what is crazy? If there was a nuke on our soil, people would STILL complain that "we weren't prepared for it", despite the fact that we're running drills exactly for that purpose. I guess the logical question then would be: How would YOU (people in general) prepare for a nuke attack? If you have an idea that would work better than what the military is doing, I'm sure they'd love to hear it.

Any new attack on U.S. soil, especially a nuclear one, would destroy the myth the public has been fed that fighting overseas stops terrorism from crossing over the ocean.

Unless the U.S. government really wants martial law in order to quell the unrest that will happen from public outrage over the uselessness of the War on Terror, they aren't going to be setting off any nukes. It will only hurt their foreign policy.

If I was a terrorist I would make a note of this. I would make sure an attack would happen only on a date involving drills and exercises. It would be a huge gain in Psy ops. Turn the enemy on themselves. I can only imagine someone like Bin Laden having a laughing fit as he watched the US tear itself apart in a civil war on CNN because people thought it was a government conspiracy to detonate a nuclear weapon on its own soil.

Interesting idea Mike, I too have thought about that possibility before. The 911 Commission concluded that the Air Exercises on 11 September, 2001 were just a coincidence. However I wonder if there is a possibility that Al Qaeda knew of these events prior to launching their attack... In any case, as I pointed out before it is a no win situation for the Government since it will obviously be a "False Flag" either way.

I think they're building a new bunker for 2012 or something...

I don't think Bush or the people behind the scene are crazy enough to bomb themselfs.. It would be a very good reason to start a new war although, but hey they got no money, the economy is going to fall like a card house and they lost all focus on everything!! Like com on they've got infrastructure as good as what they got in the 60's.

No way they are bombing themselfs, it's either a bunker for storage of some artifacts or a bunker for our friend little old bush.

wasn't there a similar drill in portland recently? some ats member was predicting a nuclear false flag attack on that date .. of course it never happened ..

Maybe nuclear attack drills are common in portland? i mean if it actually happened and it wasnt the U.S government involved you would shout at them if they wern't prepared.

We will not have a false flag operation in the near future, this I firmly believe, but only for one simple reason. This reason may sound stupid to some, but for me it's very comforting. I think that Bush would never impose martial law on this country or nuke this country simply because his daughter just got enganged and will be married soon. Why would he want to turn our country into utter chaos when his daughter is in the throws of the happiest time of her life. I know it sounds silly, but this is just what I think. As soon as I heard it all over the news, I was thrilled, not for her, but for the safety of our country. I guess I am really going out on a limb here, but that's just the way I see it. Unless of course we hear that she has moved to another country, or is going on an "extended vacaction" to another country, I wouldn't worry about anything.

Look if the guy bombed us on 9.11 what makes you think that he won't do it again. I know that marriage is a great time but this man wants to kill us.

It is inevitable.

Consider the issue of the Iraq war based on WMDs and surprise surprise we found none.

This damages public confidence but by then our boys were on the ground and the insurgents are killing them, new story to whitewash over the old.

Consider Iran and the implications required to secure Khuzestan. You cannot win these wars by air power. Afghanistan and Iraq is proof of this. These are countries trained in years and years of guerrilla warfare and low munition capability, meaning Iran will just lock down and wait for boots on the ground.

Iran also presents the possibility of a true Jihad type flare across Syria - Iraq - Afghanistan. The west attacking the Persians is a call to arms for anyone with faith in defeating the evil that oppresses them.

While at the same time we on tv are fed that we are to show the light against these poor people evil dictators. Considering Iraq today and Iraq with saddam - i bet were he alive today - he would win the deomcratic vote of the iraqi people

Think of the passions and overwhelming patriotism created by 3000 deaths in 911 - which i am sorry - but for a city that dense - and for a 2 buildings to fall and 4 aircraft - that is a pathetic body count.

Maximum disruption minimum casualties is the revelation of all subsequent terror attacks since 911.

Consider then how the USA will feel when 150 000 of its citizens get vaporised. An immediate state of emergency, immediate anger and outrage. AND - the willingness to ask every american to come forward and put an end to the war on terror once and for all.

Iran requires boots on the ground - to cope with the entire region igniting and to keep Israels borders secure. The only way to gain that commitment is to win the hearts and the minds of the people.

So nuke em. Detonate a device in a middle american city where it will not be a hard hit to financial institutions, banks etc. But it will take innocents.

3000 people is nothing - its hardly a blip - yet look at the fever the fear the passion the media builds over the event. Consider the power of 150000 or more americans being vaporised live on CNN.

You will create the call for heroes - you will create the golden age of WW2 style propaganda - men will have a chance to be men again. And war will sweep the middle east finally removing every annoying item next to precious oil and gas reserves.

You think russia and china will be against this ? You think they are not involved already? You think they dont want stability and central global control of oil and gas resources?

America has the resource and the ability - all it needs is to convince americans to commit to a largescale war. You think it will be enough to say Iran are supplying explosives? You think it will be enough to have a few car bombs ? Or when americans see one of their cities core wiped out in a flash - how committed will they be to ending terrorism, accepting ID chips/cards - coming together to do whatever it takes.

It will take time and needs a very strong president in place to push them forth to take the middle east.

Perhaps - when a terminator can stand for the seat of power

Hasta la vista baby

No i dont believe this would raise any conspiracy myths at all. It would instantly create fear.

The news has already been critical of the Bush plan on Iraq in that they did not commit enough troops to either afghanistan or iraq to the job properly and thats why we are in the mess of insurgent quagmire.

Whispers of terms like Universal Service - ie conscription/national service.

Continued reports of overstretched military. Poor leadership.

A nuke detonation authorises the use of tactical strikes - the man reason in a future war with Iran and larger sections of the middle east will not see large scale nuke retaliation even if a city is wiped in the states - why ?

You are hardly going to nuke all the oil are you ?

The war on terror as rumsfeld warned could last 20 or 30 years. And it will. It needs conviction and commitment to win it.

911 I think proved you dont get a better rallying cry than seeing your own people hit hard live on tv.

So to get people really wanting an end to the war on terror - they need to be truly terrorised.

Just think how appalling it will be for anyone to even suggest a nculear incident on american lives was a government run conspiracy!!

Are you insane? How could you think something so stupid in a time of americas greatest need and threat? Are you a sympathiser of al queda? Are you a terrorist? I suppose you believe in aliens too

Think about the laws to combat such negative conspiracy theory are already in place.

"Let us never tolerate outrageous conspiracy theories concerning the attacks of Spetember 11th. Malicious lies that attempt to shift the blame away from the terrorists themselves, away from the guilty."

George W Bush

Excellent post

That would solve alot of problems the current administration , and the country for that matter, is facing.

First off it would solve alot of the recruitment problems. Although I'm sure it would be good enough excuse to start a draft, but as you stated the morale and anger could possibly be equated to the WWII era after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I can see alot of people signing up instantly.

Obviously the war economy that is so much desired by the powers that be, would be like no other in the history of man. What we did during WWII is nothing compared to what we have the potential to do now.

Intersesting point about Russia and China. I understand that in certain ways we are tied at the hip, but I never took them for a team player . especially Russia.

The fact that this view has been accepted more by the general public says alot about the accepted mind set of the general public..The fact of the matter is even people like the crazy old neighbor lady down the street accepts the fact that our Govt. will do anything it wants regardless of what it's citizens want.

These trully are complex and confusing times we live in.

I was watching the news yesterday and there was talk that in the event of an attack or something or if the terrorists try something that the government will engage in bunker buster bombs which are bombs that can penetrating the earth and have nuclear bombs in them...Now doesn't that sound like the bombs that were developed to destroy alien bases underground...i mean come on how the heck can terrorists have bases underground, for gods sake they like in natural caves, i dont think they had the technology to build bases underground...just more lies from your favorite nation, usa...

True, but let's not forget where they found Saddam Hussein.. He was in a hole underground.

I think the purpose of the bunker buster bombs is to goto relatively shallow depths in the earth to detonate and destroy shelters and such.. Probably not quite as deep as what would be needed for say a base that was a mile or so below the surface.

I think that would be true for some people... but dont forget there are a lot of people that would be too afraid. they would trust in the govt if the govt promised them that they would be able to continue their lives as normal. and also dont forget, there are actually people out there that like Bush! i know its crazy! but its true... so what we would really be looking at would be freedom fighters, labled as terrorists and trator to their own country... and us fighters would be mown down by the power of our own military.

We have nuclear drills on a regular basis where I work...but that would be because of the area. Nuclear drills shouldn't alarm you, in fact it would be helpful should such a scenario ever come. I know if anything happened to the place I'm at, I'd kiss my green scaly posterior goodbye. People outside the area would fare much better. As far as a nuclear foreign attack...that's something I can't really make much input on. Perhaps some psycho dictator?
