I wasn't really sure what to title this thread -

I've never really been one who believes in guides or guardian angels or any of that stuff. However after yesterday I may have changed my mind. It was my last day of vacation and I was in a barnes & noble in vancouver looking for some reading material for my flight home later that night. So here I am looking at different new age material. I heard someone walk up beside me I didn't think anything of it as it was a busy bookstore. I then heard this person ask me if I was new at this? I turned around and looked and it was a young lady standing there looking at me. I asked her to define "new at this" As I was not sure what she meant by that.

She said she had watched me work my way thru all the new material as if I was searching for something. We started talking and then it got really weird. I've had a lot on my mind for the last few weeks and I was looking for an answers to these questions I had. Well, in mid conversation she busted out with how I was looking at things the wrong way and what I was considering doing was not right. I asked her what she meant and she rattled off the questions I've had running thru my mind. Lucky guess maybe? She then went on to tell me that what I was thinking of doing was to never be used for those purposes etc. Right about then my phone was ringing and I had to get going to the airport.

I asked her if she had an email address or phone number as I found our conversation very interesting and I wanted to talk to her some more. She told me that she did not have a computer or even a phone and that she lives out in the wooded area outside of vancouver and rarely ever comes into town. She then told me that she knew I had to get going to catch my flight and that I needed to remember what she said.

Later that night as I was heading home I was thinking about this and how strange it was that here I was a 1000 miles from home and a complete stranger had answered all these questions for me. Like the title states I have no idea what to make of this meeting?? Was she a watcher, a guide, an angel?? I really don't know.

HAs anyone else ever encountered something like this or even have any ideas about this?

I've had a similar encounter.
A few, in fact.

I've no explanation for it.

I'm Deist. And I don't believe
in psychics.

Some things can't be explained.

Regards,
Lex

All things can be explained. The real problem is some of those explanations are wrong. One needs to always look at the motive of those who advertise the answers.

And as my signature points out, believers and nonbelievers, once entrenched in their preferred system, dare not allow the truth to mess up their picture of "how things are".

It's the main reason I stay on the fence. For me the world still retains mystery, yet I have no need to blindly follow any idiotic idea.

OP, there is likely a reason this event happened, but as to why or how it happened; that is the reason life is still a big question mark. Happy hunting, but in the meantime be glad you had a brush with the unknown.

Absolutely. A few times. It can be mind blowing, especially if you are a practical realist like myself.

The last and most dramatic one was a few years ago on Easter morning. I was standing in my kitchen feeling awful and quite emotional about my relationship with Jesus. Questions, etc. There was a knock at the door and I answered it. Standing before me was a very tall, very elderly African-American man dressed in a suit and a very small African-American boy who never spoke. He wished me happy Easter and said that he was there to let me know that, even though it was a very important day and Jesus should certainly be considered and remembered, our focus should always be on God and his purpose for us. That was all he said. As I stood there in shock, he turned and left, taking the boy by the hand. I never saw where they went or saw them again in my neighnorhood.

It had a profound effect on my belief structure. I think of him every Easter.

It was by far the most interesting experience of my vacation. I just do not know what to make of it??

Well, I would suggest that only you would know what to make of it. Either its relevant to your current condition or circumstances - or its not. If it were me, I would seriously contemplate the meaning of her words and my own intuition/gut feeling (whichever term you prefer).

I know its relevent no doubt about it. I just feel hmm somewhat violated I guess that this person was able to pull something from me that was and is very important to me so easily.

Hi Jager_Bomb,

This is very, very common! I've personally had many such encounters. The energy I always get from it is - "When you are in need, we are here.." - as they usually only appear when we are in need of something. Be it inspiration, protection, some kind of help, or just someone to talk to that makes us remember how important we all are.

Many times, however strange it seems, those people are actually humans doing "good deeds." Somehow they are led to us in that perfect moment and are willing to offer assistance. But there are also times when guides or friends in other realms appear to help out. Then.. disappear.

This makes me remember one of the most special encounters I've had related to this..

It was Christmas day and my brother and I were heading to my parents' party together. He was driving, and I was in the passenger seat, looking good and ready for the party.

We stopped at a gas station on the way. There, sitting next to our car, was an older woman alone in her car - gifts filling her back seat. Her hood and car doors were open and she was just sitting there alone, looking frustrated and near tears. It was cold, cloudy and raining out.

My brother walked over and asked her if she knew what was wrong with her car. She said the power died "for no reason" and she was on her way to visit her family in another state. My brother opened the door, told me he was going to help her and asked me to phone my parents to let them know we'd be late. So I did.

He pulled his car over to her's, hooked up his cables and worked about 20 minutes with no luck. The owner of the gas station came outside at that time and rudely told the woman to hurry and get her car out of the spot because "other customers could be using it," after he threatened to call the cops. She broke down crying - not knowing what to do.

My brother then attempted to push the car to the edge of the parking lot where he could work on it without being disturbed. He pushed it a bit, but the car was on a hill - and with the freezing rain splashing down, it just wouldn't go far. He's a huge guy - 6'2" and muscular, but still couldn't manage.

I started reaching for the door handle - getting out to help push as far as I could. In heals, I knew I wouldn't be much help.. but I was still going to try.

I was alone in the car. As soon as I touched the handle, a voice as clear as day said "Don't! Look to your right!" Startled, I quickly looked to the right and saw a man walking over to us from nowhere. He looked roughly 30 yrs. old and was probably the most attractive man I've ever seen in my life.

He made his way to where we were and stood in front of our car. His eyes were (or near) solid black. They were sparkling and absolutely beautiful! He smiled at me very oddly - beautiful, but very shy/sheepishly - I just sat in owe. His energy, or "feel" was entirely surreal.

He then walked over to the older woman's car and, with ONE hand, pushed the car over the hill and to a hotel parking lot about 100 yards away. He was smaller in structure than my brother and yet it was complete ease for him. Her car was a large buick-type car and loaded to the max, along with her in it. He didn't even strain or break a sweat.

After he pushed it to the hotel, he said to my brother; "you and your sister be blessed." Then he walked to the side of an old building near a patch of woods and disappeared. Literally disappeared. There was nowhere he could have went, and I had my brother drive over to see where he went. He vanished. Not even footsteps remained in the mud where he walked!

He also knew we were siblings, which was odd -- because we look nothing alike. Just when all of us needed someone, he appeared. That's how it always happens.

Beautiful...

Ok, I can understand someone who shows up to provide support ect, but to do what she did, that makes me think she was no ordinary person. That's what I'm having trouble wrapping my mind around.
