The iPhone has created such a sensation that it's not surprising that it has also created some pretty big bills, not just dollar-wise, but in volume, as well.

...AT&T itemizes every instance of iPhone Internet access. That means every text message, every Web connection -- everything -- even though those instances generally don't cost extra. As a result, Pittsburgh graphic designer and blogger Justine Ezarik received her first iPhone bill in a box -- 300 pages worth. Page after page lists items called "Data Transfer" each costing "$0.00." Naturally, Ezarik posted a video of the "unboxing" on her blog.

Another iPhoner took his device to England and while he didn't make any phone calls, he did access the internet to the tune of $5,086.66. He isn't happy.

Well as you may have guessed by now these are all charges for using the edge network while roaming internationally (in England). No phone calls mind you just data. According to AT&T that's at a rate of $2cents per K! WTF? Why don't you rape me and my whole family while you're at it? From all you can use for $20 bucks a month to $2cents per K?! $20 per web-page? Are you INSANE?

That's like charging you $2cents per molecule of gas for you car!

I dont know who she calls but my iphone bills are like 4 pages, front and back. I have no idea how or why she got so many pages its just silly that they would send something like that out.

It should be noted that this isn't an "Apple iBill", as blowfishdl states, but just another case of AT&T being AT&T. As a former subscriber to their cellular service none of this surprises me in the slightest...

Doesn't surprise me either. I was reviewing some AT&T (not iphone related) bills for a client the other night. One specifically was a $0.30 invoice 24 pages long, a third of which were marked "This Page Intentionally Left Blank", for a regulatory fee on a service they didn't have.

Of course, there's a difference between the "old legacy AT&T" (which was the 30 cent bill I referenced above) and the "new" SBC/AT&T. But that's a whole other story.

I'll give everyone this piece of advice - when it comes to telecom bills, at least in the US, regardless of the vendor or service, assuming they're correct and/or valid can be a very expensive mistake.

1. she's hot
2. that's a computer issue that they will, presumably, be fixing in the near future.
3. she's hot
4. I don't get the whole iphone thing. Other than the look, is it really that different from, say a treo? I can not only play music on my treo, I can buy songs and download them without having to hook my phone up to the computer. I also have far faster service.
5. did I mention, she's hot?

Shhh! You'll kill the buzz. It's a geek thing. Don't harsh their mellow.

5. did I mention, she's hot?

I don't think so. Who are we talking about again?

It'd be nice if you could get prepaid service for the iPhone... No 300page bills with the Payasyougoiphone!

I wonder how many trees are being cut down for all that useless paper... paper that should be made from hemp, or something else that doesn't require deforestation.

PS. glad I didn't buy the iPhone after all.

She's hot is an understatement. Damn video got me to go to her site to see who she was and what other things she has done....which bored me to tears in about 2 min...but she is hot!!

I am no Apple fanboy at all. Never owned one of their products until 4 months ago and I cannot speak for Treo or any other "Smart phone" but the Iphone really is pretty darn cool and efficient.

I was at a mall looking at phones, maybe even changing service (my contract was up) and I strolled into a cingular (now at&T) store. I was already an at&t customer but wasnt to impressed with their phone selection.

So I splurged on the iphone since the ipod I bought 3 months earlier proved to be a fine working unit.

I love my iphone. I'd bet that treo or other smart phones might do more but for my first smart phone, this suits my needs quite well. Until my needs outweigh what the iphone can do, I'll stick with it and look forward to updates that improve on it even more.

She is quite gorgeous. I think I've actually seen her at a Penguins game before, but she wasnt filming anything so it probably wasnt her. I knew something on ATS would make Pittsburgh look good!

Now, what was this thread about again?

Yes. We talk all brave on the Internet, but when actually confronting a beautiful woman, we stammer around and then run away.

Depending of course upon the Cleavage Quotient. And the Alcohol Level Coefficient. There's a lot of math involved. It's complicated.

Well all I've got to say is that I am glad for ATS's sake that I am in charge of handing out the beauty contestant sashes at the BayAereaUFOExpo where intelligence, dignity and grace count for more than chest size and color of hair. After all, its the inner beauty that is appealing. Thank God for me.

right. It's the inner beauty that causes a man to walk up to a complete stranger and ask if he can take her out for dinner or drinks.

This kind of thing happened to me when I first signed up to CompuServe back in the 80s. I somehow got the impression that I didn't pay for downloading and only paid for uploading. Yeah, dumb, I know.

I think my first bill was for $500 bucks or more. Yikes!

Of course that was using a 300 Baud modem, so everything took longer...

Phone bill made from Hemp ~ with a covering letter telling you to stick that in your pipe and smoke it!
- I know it wont work like that, but a boy can dream.

I also didn't act like a school girl at a boy band concert over this iPhone load of .... I got a Nokia 6630 a long time ago now, it will do everything I require with a but of looking around on Internet looking for free S/W (using a PC and B/tooth) but it wont change channels on me telly cos it has no IR
~ but it's brick like build has earn t it's right to live out it's twilight days in my jeans pocket simply cos it's been to mobile phone hell and back many many times (falling off m/bikes, contracting in all weathers, my toddler neice taking videos of everything, me in drunk mode to name a few) and it still works fine, battery life like new as well. 1 tiny crack in plastic screen cover and some scuffs. Can't see an iPhone living up to 1 10th of that punishment.
