well i can agree its definately august 18th 2007, and so far nothing has happened nor has anything catastrophic occurred. so i guess technically we have until midnight, so i guess we shall see.

did the last crop circle not predict the peru earthquake? if this is true, then something may definately occur.

You know I'm not convinced that all crop circles are man made, but linking every new circle to a disaster just discredits the Phenomena.

I'd say this is pretty pertinent and thanks to sager for bringing it up.

From SEC Real-time Displays

GOES X-ray Flux

I'm not sure if this is aberrant as well but here is the Electron Flux data as well.

GOES Electron Flux

Interesting the way the curvature of the lines seems to be aligning, whereas at the beginning of the graph the lines are dissimilar. I'm no astronomer though so I haven't the foggiest what it means really.

Hopefully we can get a resident astronomer to shed some light on what these fluctuations mean.

The problem with these graphs is that you don't have much data, therefore you can't compare. You have three days of data here. When you go to the one minute graph instead of this five minute graph, the data does not look nearly as interesting. I'd like to see a couple of months or even a year's worth of data to know whether this little spike here is even worth noting. I looked on the site and could not find a more comprehensive data set. As it stands it amounts to selective use of data.

What If(a big IF) that suppose crop circles are made by aliens, and we keep asking why they don't say it in our language(s) Maybe they can't "dumb" themselves down to our level, and when we finally gain a higher level of consciousness, we'll all realize how clear they all are.

On topic, its 3:32pm EST and nothing happening in SW Ontario

Hi All

I spent the day in Wiltshire to go and see the latest big crop circle, I ended up talking in a pub to 3 cool old guys that had lived in the area for 30+ years. They beleived that 95% of the circles are done by the local 'teams'. They are trying to out do each others designs etc and they even have an HQ in one of the town centres that offer tours and sell all the merchandise, it generates alot of money for the small villages that are really out the way places. I never got to the latest crop circle as I was talking to these guys for too long, they sent me to a small pub called the barge in a village called Honeystreet as it was a 'meet up' place for alot of 'circle seekers' they were also selling merchandise and had a whole room full of pictures of the circles.

These old guys did say that there had been circles that had appeard to fast to be man made and all confirmed a story of a crop sprayer who flew over a field did a job and on the way back an hour later a massive complex circle had appeard in broad daylight, they all admited they were skeptics and knew people who took pride in making the circles but there were one or two circles over the years that had even these teams scratching thier heads. I did get to see the avebury stones which were great !

Im not an investigator, I was just bored today, I have some photos of me with the stones but I didnt record my conversations with the locals, however Im glad I went , It confirmed to me that the circles are not hoaxes but great works of art that the locals take pride in !!

I've been a member of ATS for a few years now and it sort of strikes as odd that it seems in August of every year.... someone says something is supposed to happen.... take a look at these threads from August 2006 and 2005

2006

aug 22 wierd stuff
www.abovetopsecret.com...

August the 3rd WWIII Begins!!!
www.abovetopsecret.com...

2005

The Next terror Attack?
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Numbers Game: Can anyone find a special date in August 2005?
www.belowtopsecret.com...

I'm sure it goes on and on and on.

I suppose the new people here on ATS don't have any idea how these sort of topics fly in through the ether and quickly die.... a good thing to, it only reinforces how predictions fail and shouldn't be taken seriously at all.

August though, why August?

Why August ?? Because its usually good weather for making them and good weather for tourists and finally something to do with the crops being a good length !!

Well, it's just about 14:00 in my neck of the woods and the only disturbance so far in my daily activities has been my dog crapping on the porch floor. But puppies will do that...

The amazing thing about having online access to the world is that we are very quick to gather information, but quicker to blow things out of proportion, form together and theorize some real whacked out things.

By sitting here on any given day, I could pull up a whole load of information that would point to tomorrow as doomsday. From earth activity, to religious foreshadowing. Aliens, Government, Space, Bombs, Biological factors, Narwhales.. etc. If you sit here and stew about it, the more paranoid you become until the pieces start to fit together and you have yourself a pretty bang up theory.

Now, I love Abovetopsecret, and the lot of you. I also know that some of you are sincerely worried about this as well. Honestly, don't spend your life waiting for the next catastrophe to happen. If we are molested by solar flares after I hit the post reply button, then so be it. It IS fun to talk about apocalypse scenarios and be informed of whats up in the now, but seriously, don't loose any sleep about it. We'll have a lot more of these alarm bells ringing as the years keep progressing.

Take your pick!

Those things can happen just as well on any other day too.

I've seen the site/map and how trustworthy is it? I mean, for it to have info like that , even when the regular news doesnt have it is weird. But the news is crap anyways.

But hoenstly, whats the deal with that website? It sure has some surprising events happening there that go un-reported. How do they get it in the first place?? Crazy!!

dramatic spike in solar activity

Yeah, personally it doesnt really count. the Universe always has these weird fluxuations that cant be explained and so we are just watching what happens. Just because there is a dramatic increase in Solar activity doesnt really mean that we're gonna die, it's just the unexplaianble fluxuations that the Sun has.

Ehhh, but what really be the consequences for this event? Worldwide, free oil will splurge out of it, etc. Will it really be something to look at?

Right! Its good to talk about, and good to know there are people out here who keep up with the thoughts and have true feelings for the world they live in however theres a big world out there! And its waiting for you to enjoy it before it ends, and ends for you, not all of us at the same time.
There are people who will die today, those who will be born. People that get robbed and others that rob others. It will rain somewhere, and be a beautiful day in other places. Enjoy your life, and get out there and do something that makes it worth while. As we all die someday, and sometimes I feel like most these feelings are a deep rooted mental projection of peoples fear of death itself. Most of us dont want to leave, I for one love life, and enjoy everything it has to offer, good or bad. You just have to take it in stride, take the good with the bad, and not get overly paranoid about such things.

I did a bit more research on solar activity and came across this website. Which has a status monitor currently displaying-

Solar X-rays: Normal
Geomagnetic field: Quiet

So I guess everything is within normal parameters. Blast! I was rather hoping the sun would explode today. A spot of the old fire and brimstone to liven up the afternoon, yes yes?
