There would be no need to destroy religion if people of all faiths werent so retarded as to live their lives by this crap.

Wars, suicides, voting based on religion, killing because they believe abortion is murder, letting their children die because they dont believe in transfusions, giving up life savings to some fraud on TV.

Once you become deeply religious, you lose all common sense and let it rule your life.

Thats why the world is in the deep # that it is now. If only we could ban religion, if only.....

Take away religion, you´ll still have those problems. People are motivated by greed, power etc. If we don´t fight over religion, we will because of land. If not land, then money, if not money then power. (Although money is power it seems.)

I don´t recall where I heard (saw) this at, but they say that we as a human species know 0.2% or 0.02% (forget which) of all that there is to know. That leaves a lot left to learn. So for all we know, science could be totally wrong. It may seem right now, but in the 1800´s when removing parts of a psychos brain it seemed like we were right then. But now we´ve learned that it was wrong/that there are ther ways of dealing with those types of problems. We are constantly learning new things. Maybe one day we will learn that religion is wrong, or maybe we will learn that science is wrong. Or just maybe, we learn that they can coexist.

Unfortunately just about all religious people are too ignorant to accept any proof that they are wrong.

Just look at all the religions that believe their god is the only god, even if there was a good, all religions but one are wrong anyway. Basic maths say religious people are wrong. Science says they are wrong but until we stop the brainwashing, the weak will continue to believe what they are told.

Theres no difference between Scientology, the Koresh group or Islam or Christianity.

They all brainwash you into what they want you to think, stand up to it and deny ignorance.

The same can be said for science. Several years back a scientist in finland discovered that gravity lost its effect in the area above a spinning super cooled super-conductor. He published his findings and was laughed out of the University. Not because his findings were wrong, but because he questioned the commonly held belief about gravity!

Now JPL is doing experiements with this same technology.

Sience and Religion are equally hosed up in this way because they both involve humans. Humans are always going to believe what they think to be right, and as history has shown in both religion and science, they will continue to get it wrong.

No. Science in its self cannot be wrong. What we have come to accept as fact through the process of science can be proven false as we obtain new information; however this simply means we’ll create new scientific theories based on the same scientific process.

Science changes as we obtain new information, it will never come to a point where we realize that “whops, sorry everyone, science was utterly wrong, we no longer have any clue about anything, perhaps this is the time to start praying”.

I would have to disagree.

A century ago, it was believed in the scientific community, and generally accepted as fact, that protein was the genetic material. It was later discovered that DNA, in fact, is the genetic material.

Another example would be that it was widely accepted, a long time ago, that humans have 48 chromosomes, or 24 pairs. It is now known that humans have 46 chromosomes, or 23 pairs.

The list goes on.
