In what seems to be the everlasting search for former Baath party members, the U.S. has captured Khamis Sirhan al-Muhammad, number 54 in the infamous
55 set deck of cards. Brigadier General Mark Kimmitt spoke to reporters saying, "He was captured as a result of a combined operation of the 82nd
Airborne Division and Special Operations forces," Sirhan was a chairman for the Southern region of Iraq around the Karbala area.
This marks the first time since the capture of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein that a member of the former ruling Baathist party has been brought
to custody. The coalition forces still have yet to catch Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri, number 6 on the list of cards and the highest ranking Baathist yet to
be captured. In what seems like pressure to capture him coalition forces have seized four nephews of Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri.
