alot of people are doing a bunch of wonk wonk wonk saying cigarettes are
bad and you cant defend them and a bunch of jazz.
Who cares but uptitght stuck up people who have nothing better to do than
stick their noses in other peoples business?
I dont smoke but I really dont care if people do smoke, if I get offended by
the smell I go away.

Blah blah blah.

I stick my noses in other peoples buisness, as you so eloquently put, because its disgusting, its vile, its bad for you and the people around you.

You see, though, the smell of a smoker doesnt go away when they arnt smoking. It stays with them for so very long, its vile.

If this is a beta test for anything, its for banning smoking altogether.

GOOD SHOW!

Yes, the land of the free.

Filled with people who are smashed off their face in the park, smoking while letting their animal # wherever it pleases while making other people clean up after them.

This isnt directed at you, but your examples. You may think your alright, but people take it to extremes.

But you dont need to smoke, do you like stepping in other peoples dog poo?
You dont need to drink alcohol in the park.
No one is stopping you from smoking in your own of friends home.
Noone is stopping you from letting your dog mess on your carpet
And no one is stopping you from drinking yourself senseless in your home or in a bar.

I'm a smoker and have been for about 10 years. I've quit two times and found myself a smoker again and again. Rather than talk about how unhealthy smoking is for the smoker / non-smokers and restrict where smokers may smoke and not smoke, they the gov't who shows how much they really give a bull should just make smoking against the law altogether. I say make them illegal, make them illegal to sell in every store rather than sticking them in your face every time you pay for gas, close down the cigarette factorys. I'm sure most smokers would complain about their rights but 99% of smokers do not want to smoke and the ones that do are lying to themselves. Who wants to spend 300.00 monthly and get weaker? You know you don't want them. But quitting is hard(non smokers) so be helpful and make cigarettes illegal. Wait what am I saying they can't make cigarettes illegal their is too much money in cigarettes. oh well worth a shot.

Exactly, tobacco will never be banned because of the money the government makes from it. If they did ban cigarettes, that'd just be one more illegal good for organised criminals to trade in, which means more government spending on police trying to fight the problem.

Sure, it's bad for the smoker, but not for the people within the vicinity. Second hand smoke is a lie. Think of all the # in the air you breathe in on a daily basis if you live in a city.

I'd rather live as a smoker in a rural area than be a whiny liberal non-smoker that lives in a smoggy, over-populated city, complaining about second hand smoke in public areas.

The government is probably looking forward to this.
More arrests = more fines = more money with the added bonus of having even more people's fingerprints, photos and DNA on file.

Currently states are losing tax dollars from people quitting due to the high cost of smoking.

You are very very wrong my friend.
A well know entertainer in the UK died of Lung Cancer caused by smoking.
BUT>>>>>>>>>>>He never smoked a cigarette in his life but spent his life in nightclubs entertaining.

Cancer by passive smoking is a fact. You really need to stop denying it.

Thats fine, just dont infest others with your drug addiction

If the governments actually cared about people's health then they would funnel the taxes from tobacco directly into health care for smokers and smoker cessation programs. This is not what they do.

They have this in Ontario where a pack went up to two dollars
almost been 3 years know..and they haven't done anythig !!!
Just more money for the government to play with . people
are just fed-up with this that smokes are big deals in the black market.

Exactly. Jesus people, not every law that is passed or every little thing that happens in life is from the "NWO." Every little news story gets put up on ATS and people start screaming "its BlackOps" "its the NWO" or "the Illuminati!!!111" or "Reptilians!" with ZERO proof. This is why some of the more important issues we discuss get no respect or attention from the general, not CT world. Quite frankly I cant blame the mainstream media for labeling Conspiracy Theorists "Kooks" anymore and that is really sad. Its getting a little ridiculous guys.

I find it very humerous that some would say make cigarettes illegal because of how addictive they are. That is why things like coc aine and heroine were made illegal. All it did was create a huge black market for such products. On top of that, you have now created criminals of millions of people who could/would not give up their habit.

I think it should be up to the businesses to determine whether they allow smoking or not. If a bar owner chooses to allow smoking then dont go to that bar. You say smokers can smoke at home so its all fine and dandy. I say you drinkers can go home to drink and those of us that want to smoke and drink can go to the bars.

People aren't really that concerned about second hand smoke. If they were, they would refuse to drive a car or use a motor powered lawn mower because they cause MUCH more bad effects than second hand smoke.

Then there is the "smokers smell" argument. There are people who dont have very good personal hygene, those that have smelly jobs, I dont see any proposals to remove those things from society.

And then there is caffeine which millions of people use on a daily basis (just like nicotine). They can't get through their day without it, have headaches/nausea/shaky hands from withdrawls. Everyone has a "drug" of choice, most are unwilling to admit it.

Yes I am a smoker. Yes I enjoy it. Yes, I agree second hand smoke can be harmful. I am against goverment intervention into private businesses.

yes, thats what happens when you break the law.

Saying "Im addicted" just means you arnt strong enough to break your own habit.

Sorry, doesnt cut it with me. You break the law you pay the price, no matter how 'addicted' you are.

I say you drinkers can go home to drink and those of us that want to smoke and drink can go to the bars.

So lets say i really want to go out and hit people. Just a thought. with your logic i could always hit people at home, cause in my home everything is allowed. But this gets boring after awhile, i want to go out and hit people in a social context.

I find a bar, the bartender says im allowed to hit people all i want. So i can do it legally, no matter how much they protest.

Same with smoking, harming those around me cause i want to be a wanker socially.

i think it smokes vile and the last guy who lit up without asking near me i pulled it out of his mouth and jammed the burning end in, just so he can experience what is happening abit more.

Cause abit more cant hurt, right?

Then there is the "smokers smell" argument. There are people who dont have very good personal hygene, those that have smelly jobs, I dont see any proposals to remove those things from society.

To the contrary, i say so all the time. People need to be aware of how they influence the people around them. Smelling badly makes people react badly.

And then there is caffeine which millions of people use on a daily basis (just like nicotine). They can't get through their day without it, have headaches/nausea/shaky hands from withdrawls. Everyone has a "drug" of choice, most are unwilling to admit it.

Im addicted to caffeine, i know i am. How is this hurting others though?

Your arguement isnt valid, sorry.

Yes I am a smoker. Yes I enjoy it. Yes, I agree second hand smoke can be harmful. I am against goverment intervention into private businesses.

Yeah, ill go smuggle some drugs to children now, cause if the government tells me its wrong ill just tell them to interfere in my private buisness is wrong.

How bout rifles? i think all kids should be able to hold and fire a rifle at another child by the age of 10.

Perhaps we should give the kids cigarettes too?! They can sit there smelling like a tar factory just like mummy and daddy!

My Opinion

Well Octavius Maximus I could care less anout any jazz about it being bad, If I get bothered by cigarette smoke I can simply walk somehwere else.

I dont care what smokers smell like either, if they want to smell bad who am I to bud into their business, the world doesnt revolve around me.

Well have fun banning things, pretty soon you may hear the drum beat of people trying to ban everything like they are to junk food and guns.

People need to smoke their addicted, and who cares if you step in dog poo it's easily hosed off, and your not allowed to drink to get drink in a bar anymore, I agree were not free at all but it's alot better than what the rest of the world has.

Laws are overrated what we need is alot more apathy, If my neighbors having a party at 4 a.m. and I have to go to work the next day I use ear plugs, becuase if I choose to have a big party some night I dont want my neighbor being a big jerk and calling the cops.

Who cares if people arent strong enough to break their habit, it's non of my business and people who want the law always enforced usually end up regretting it when the law comes down on them for something stupid like going 2 miles over the limit etc.

Yeah if people want to fight we should let them at home or in a social context

Holy crap turning their smoke around around and sticking into their face, if someone was actually slow enough to let that happen I dont think anybody would get away with that without a huge scuffle happening.

Smelling badly makes people react badly, so do people who force their views on others.

have fun smuggling man, ariva derchay LOL didnt even attempt to spell that correctly.

But Rifles every child should know how to use one, not at eachother though but a knowledge of firearms is usefull should they ever decide to go hunting wild game is much tastier than farmed meat and you feel the accomplishment brininging in food for the family.

These have been my opinions on this subject ya'll have a great day.

The government decides to outlaw caffeine because its a stimulant. They did that with coc aine. You are now one of those addicts that are raging for a fix. You get caught with a thing of Maxwell Coffee in the trunk of your car you just got from canada. You're now a criminal.

So lets say i really want to go out and hit people. Just a thought. with your logic i could always hit people at home, cause in my home everything is allowed. But this gets boring after awhile, i want to go out and hit people in a social context.

Smoking is legal, throwing fists isn't. Why shouldn't a business owner be allowed to regulate legal activities within his own establishment? There can be smoking bars/non-smoking bars, determined by the individual owners. All the ban from bars does is force people to smoke right outside the door, defeating the purpose anyways.

i think it smokes vile and the last guy who lit up without asking near me i pulled it out of his mouth and jammed the burning end in, just so he can experience what is happening abit more.

Do I even need to respond to this?

To the contrary, i say so all the time. People need to be aware of how they influence the people around them. Smelling badly makes people react badly.

So the individual who is a garbage man should not be allowed in public because his clothes smell of trash? That person with overactive sweat glands should be forced into exile because nothing can cover up the smell? Did you ever think that what smells bad to you might be pleasing to others? I like the smell of cigarette smoke yet dislike the smell of bananas. Who's to say which is bad?

Yeah, ill go smuggle some drugs to children now, cause if the government tells me its wrong ill just tell them to interfere in my private buisness is wrong.

Dont go all melodramatic on me here. You know full well I am not advocating things of this sort. This is in the context of the government forcing legal behaviour out of businesses.

I smoke.

I respect the "personal area" of those around me. If it offends, I'll move.

However, no one has the right to tell me what I can and cannot do with my personal body. That is why smoking will never be banned. It has nothing to do with cost or profit.

The smoking issue will subside just as prohibition did.
