2 Week Warning (changed title)

There is currently a rather emotional discussion going on about what should be done with the police officer who fired his service revolver into the air to try to shoot a snake in a bird house and ended up killing a 5 year old boy nearby fishing at a pond with his grandfather.

I have been trying to keep up with this story and today I found this Daily Oklahoman article on the funeral for 5 year old Austin Haley. Since the time the shooting death hit the local media it has been evident that Austin was an extremely spiritual child. He exhibited this both in his own precocious commitment to his religion and in his relationships to people in his life. He has been described in numerous news articles and reports as being beyond his years in his charitable and loving nature to his younger brother, friends and church family. He carried his Bible with him most of the time and was extremely committed to church events. Now - doesn't matter what you think of "organized religion", the boy's extreme commitment to both a living style and his own personal religion is a manifestation of extreme spirituality. Face it - we all get to exhibit that spirituality in whatever way we choose.

It appears that a couple of weeks before this horrendous accident Austin started having premonitions of his own death. I'm going to lift a few snippets and then I'll give you the entire article to read (please read it - it's about an awesome little angel who was taken from us).

About two weeks before his death, Austin started asking questions about heaven, Renee Haley said. He wanted to know what it would be like, how you got there and if his favorite colors, black and gray, would be there.

The morning of his death, Renee Haley said Austin woke up crying. "He said ‘I'm going to miss you, Daddy and Dalton so much,” she said. She promised she would do anything he wanted later that afternoon. He chose pushing him on the swing, helping him across the monkey bars, and going to feeding the fish at the pond, she said.

Children are such awesome spiritual beings. But there is a trend that I would like to pull out of this. In my life I have noticed that approximately 2 weeks before an extremely traumatic event, there is a foreshadowing that is provided - IF WE STAY SPIRITUAL ENOUGH TO PICK IT UP. This has happened in my life and in the lives of relatives. Foreshadowings right 2 weeks before a death, an accident or extremely bad news have occurred. I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this "2 week warning" in their lives.

Alas, i was adopted,
so if my forebodings had actual events attached to them, I had no way of knowing if any blood kin were affected.


as for the adopted relatives,
the Familys' Grand-Pa, called for a gathering of all his natural & adopted children & families...
.about 2 weeks before he passed.. the Familys Irish 'shilleighley'(sp?) was passed to the 1st born grand-child a Daniel M. who later became a Catholic Priest.
oops...(there isn't a continuation of lineage with a celibate priest)
