If you want to get anywhere with this "We The People," you must 1st face history. The above Corporate Body went bankrupt in 1933. (see 1973 Senate Report 93-549) re: Executive Order 6073/6102/6111/6260. Said Corp.Body was placed into receivership by certain Banks who now own the members of this Body as collateral. Social Secured and numbered citizens are no longer free nor have rights.
This is why the corporate world, including large insurance corp. run the US and tell Pres. Bush what to sign and what wars to start + when.
JFK wanted to change the money System, among other things; Re: The Federal Reserve, which is a private debt creation System. He was executed as he posed a threat to the position of The Presidency of We The People, Inc. Some say this was a successful coup. Others say it was the necessay legal step in protecting the powers of The Presidency, of We The People, of which you, thread maker, claim a desire to perpetuate.

i tried to picture JFK reading those words with passion to the media. I can't see any of our elected or wanna-be's trying to say these words and striking a cord in the hearts of our citizens. Our founding fathers could never have known how rich companies and politicians could have become to take control of so much of this country. Technology along with corrupt greedy souls and deep pockets equal absolute power. most Americans don't and won't know most of the laws being passed to infringe upon their rights. Laws secretly being added to bills that have nothing to do with the original draft or text. only to be used when needed to protect the secrets or gold in their hidden safes. I would love to see a surge of people caring and marching the streets to take back this country from the corrupt. I would love to see the media stand behind the people they broadcast to and help inform them of the crimes being committed before their very eyes. what would our founding fathers think of our countries state of distress? They would be disgusted with this counties leaders but more so with her citizens.
i look forward to your future post and hope these words of yours reach all the eyes they are meant too.

very good responses, I think the problem i have stumbled into is what is the best way to fight a system in wich much of your friends and family rely on. i mean if you look at our economy it is higly interconnected and interdependent and most of the companies that make money are highly explotitve for the simple reason that explotation and addiction are big money makers I.E. Mcdonalds,Coke,Pepsi, big Pharma, big oil, tobacco, wal-mart not to mention the illegal drugs and other's to horrible to write about and as you have mentioned this is a free country and nobody has to do anything that they dont want to which 90 percent of the time means the path of least resistance in other words take an easy pay check so you can pass on your D.N.A and have your kids have all the fancy stuff so they dont get picked on in school and can be smart and go to college and such. I dont dispute free-will i just do not know where to focus it. I am sure people will try to protest or form militias or vote for some other puppet but will any of these things work the simple answer is no. and last but not least dont worry about my mental health being so nihilistic for i have found qigong and meditation and i highly recommend it as thinking can become dangerous to ones health sometimes.

Not to mention i would like to pass on my D.N.A and have an all right family life without worrying about the man all the time. or my paranoid gun toting, wal-mart shopping, terrorist harboring, meth making, polluting, fat and lazy, Mcdonalds eating, britney spears worshipping, comrades that i share this wonderful country with and the other half that makes thier money off these "demon sheeple. and finally the worst part of it all is i tend to be friends and even like most of the people that fit the above discriptions minus the terrost, meth making, etc. and i believe most americans have friends and family in all facets of this game and thats what makes it so important and yet so hard to accomplish anything that benifits all while keeping our competitve edge with the rest of the world and mabey even the rest of the universe. (abovetopsecret) ha ha.

And i almost forgot this bieng about government more than the economy the government has to pay attention to the big money makers and in reality where we spend our money is the only vote that really matters in my opinion. To bad it seems most people love to spend thier money on things that tend to enslave and addict. and where the money goes human intention follows it seems most people will do anything for money as we all need it to get along.

I agree that to have any effect that the the first thing we have to do is get rid of the Federal Reserve. This is probably the primary way they are able to control us and as well as the Federal govt. What we have more than anything else is govt. being controlled by the corporate world and private banking.

If all of the people on ATS were to approach their local newspapers we could get a fair number to pick up the articles in their editorial section. The whole secret of making this productive is mass exposure. Circulating the info here on ATS is nothing more than preaching to the choir. I for one would be willing to approach my local newspaper. Taking this approach there is a good chance that we could get some of the news services to pick it up.

Another approach could be to get contributers to kick in to buy advertising space in papers....maximum exposure is the surest way of getting our message out there.

Again I would like to congratulate you on your efforts. I think it now becomes the members responsibility to pick up the ball and run with it.

I read somewhere that some town created thier own currency it might have been in canada or something though I wonder if that is even an option. I am thinking it is not unless you have a lot of product and talented people in your collective. I think the whole idea of goverment and money really hampers alote of the creative potential especially the spiritual potentials which I know have been cheesed up in the new age material but thier is some good researchers and honest explorers who have devoted thier life to see if thier is any creedence to these facets of the human potential. and as i do not want to go off on another tangent i will simply give a few authors. Gopi Krishna, U.G. Krishnamarti, Chunyi lyn, just to name a few that I have explored and have even met Chunyi Lyn in person as he heals people with horrible diseases at mayo clinic and his own clinic in minnesota. google them and check out some of thier books. unless they are all lying and hatched a plan to fool the human race they all share a consistant account of what happens when the brain and body evolves to handle more energy. Can you imagine what a government of enlightened individuals would function like. As we are on the topic of reforming the government I think this is diffenitely a major point of concern and should probebly be considered as it seems that if we are giong to make life bearable for the rest of the time our species exists on this rock in space government should utilize or at least be cognizant of these facets of human biology and thier utility which seems to be of paramount importance. But of course thier is the whole catch 22 if we utilize these potentials we cant be sheeple and be addicted to the crap big business and big government shove down our collective throats and then how will order and the statuse quo exist if everyone is blissed out of thier minds on a kundalini trip totally satisfied and needing nothing but the simplest and most wholesome of lifestyles. I believe we are in hell my fellow ATS'ers and most think it is heaven. sorry for giong off on a tangent but i hope it is relevent to our discussion as i believe it is.

If you don't like how things are going in this country, and you think there's a reasonable chance you can help do something about it, consider how civil disobedience can be used in our current environment to send a real message to our "leadership." Civil disobedience has proven its effectiveness against oppressive government power.

So what does civil disobedience mean in a surveillance society?

The surveillance society presently being erected relies heavily on what information can be gleaned from your metadata. Metadata is not strictly the content of your communications, but facts about how you communicate. Your GPS coordinates, for example, are by default broadcast by most cellphones as metadata every time you make a call. Turn your GPS off.

Deny the government your metadata. Do you know the dollar value of a list of telephone numbers sold from one telemarketing firm to another? The government is picking through your digital trash, trying to turn a profit. So leave them a few stinkers.

They also rely on data you choose to make public, like what you post in forums like this one.

What are they trying to do?

The two-party system is trying to make everybody conform, because if the behavior of individuals is highly predictable, that individual makes a better consumer.

The federal government is working for the bankers, thank you Woodrow Wilson and Edward Mandell House. Who knows what Kennedy was trying to do with Executive Order 11110.

What methods do they use?

Well, right now they are trying to make as many people as possible as paranoid as possible. Duct tape and plastic wrap for people who don't know how small a molecule is, the Panopticon for those who might fancy their ideas somewhat useful. Duct tape for those who buy whatever way out of their paranoia the nearest zombie is offering them, self-censorship for anybody who hopes for a lucrative career.

If you're happy to share even when you're poor, many of the zombies can't get at you. Check out Hakim Bey's "Radio Sermonettes."

If enough people leave cryptic messages every change they get, online, on the telephone, and in public places, we can cram our data down the Leviathan's throat until it chokes on its own greed, of its own doing.

Don't support the two party system. Vote for yourself, not because you want to be president, but because you don't want to give your vote to a monster.

And don't ever shut up.

I know I missed a few responses but I'm going to be a little busy today and wanted to make sure I posted the next section. I'll respond to everyone as best I can a little later. Should I continue posting it the way I have or I should I just post the rest all at once?

Part III: Why we have rights.

Our rights, both as citizens and human beings, have been expressly outlined for a very intentional purpose. Our rights are not simply a list of things we should be allowed to do, they are also a list of the duties that every citizen is required to perform. The government, when all is said and done, really has no reason to protect our rights and serve the greater good. In fact, the government has become increasingly more powerful due to our loss of freedoms over the past few years. We have rights because we were meant to enact them for the security the nation our founding fathers created and our fore fathers died for.

Every citizen has a duty, both to themselves and to the nation they love, to keep the government in check and ensure that it will never over step it’s boundaries and become worse than the monarchy we fought so hard to be rid of. Our freedom of speech is expressly outlined because it was expected that every citizen should speak out any time they feel the government is acting against their wishes. Our freedom of the press was meant to serve the citizens and inform them of the actions of the government, in an unbiased manner, so that each citizen may for his or her own opinion of the government which works for them. Every right that is outlined is a right that was meant to be enacted regularly by every citizen concerned with the continued existence of our nation as we know it.

When we as citizens decide not to enact our rights we condone, through our silence, the actions of the government no matter how treasonous or illegal they may seem. As protectors and guardians of our freedom we are armed with our inalienable rights and our ability to oppose any position the government may take and it was always expected that citizens would use these weapons of freedom in the preservation of that which we’ve fought for.

In this new century many of us have decided that there is no point, that we are powerless but noting could be further from the truth. As citizens of the United States of America we are better equipped than any populous in the history of the world to protect ourselves from a government which exploits us. Many people have decided to give up their rights and give in to fear of the government and social acceptability and this has ensured that more of our freedoms will be infringed upon until there are no freedoms left to us.

Every citizen is required to enact every non-violent right possible to oppose governmental actions they don’t agree with. Our system of government is broken because the citizens have chosen to take themselves out of the equation and treat the government as an omnipotent autonomous entity on who’s good side we need to stay. America will only survive as long as we the people still care enough to ensure that the ideals on which this nation was founded will never die.

Liberty:
1.
--a. The condition of being free from restriction or control.
--b. The right and power to act, believe, or express oneself in a manner of one's own choosing.
--c. The condition of being physically and legally free from confinement, servitude, or forced labor. See synonyms at freedom.

2. Freedom from unjust or undue governmental control.

3. A right or immunity to engage in certain actions without control or interference: the liberties protected by the Bill of Rights.

Freedom:
1. The condition of being free of restraints.

2. Liberty of the person from slavery, detention, or oppression.

3.
--a. Political independence.
--b. Exemption from the arbitrary exercise of authority in the performance of a specific action; civil liberty: freedom of assembly.

4. Exemption from an unpleasant or onerous condition: freedom from want.

5. The capacity to exercise choice; free will: We have the freedom to do as we please all afternoon.

Definitions taken from answers.com

In this case, I think Shadow is referring to number 5. of freedom. In all cases, the definitions are pretty vague, and leave room for a wide range of meanings, so it shouldn't be a problem at all.

Some relevant quotes from Jean-Jacques Rousseau:

"the impulsion of mere appetite is slavery"

(what does this say about today's consumer society?)

"what man loses by the social contract is his natural liberty and an unlimited right to anything which tempts him and which he is able to obtain; what he gains is civil liberty and the ownership of all he posses."

(if "natural liberty" meant to Rousseau what "freedom" meant to the Founding Fathers, what does this say about how the surveillance society benefits from consumer technologies, in the context of economies of scale?)

"before examining the act by which a people elects a king, it would be good to examine the act by which a people is a people."

(what does it mean for an American to vote for Hillary Clinton? What has the two-party system given us? Maybe we can just alternate rule by Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton, from here to perpetuity, and do away with these messy elections all together. Then the left and the right can take turns feeling vindicated, cheated, satisfied, jealous, ever increasing in their viscousness from here to perpetuity. What could be more democratic than just agreeing to take turns?)

"It will be said that the despot secures to his subjects civil peace."

(At least Mussolini made the trains run on time. Smile for your portrait, you'll have a framed copy in a matter of minutes.)

"a man who becomes another's slave does not give himself; he sells himself at the very least for his subsistence; but why does a people sell itself?"

(any English or Philosophy majors out there making real money with your college degree? Anybody drowning in Monopoly money?)

Write in "America Jones" wherever you vote next. Or vote for yourself if you care to be absolutely certain that you're not voting for a Fascist.

I came to the conclusion that peoples everywhere deserve the governments they have. If we the people choose to let fascism become the norm, then we deserve it.
I talk, literally, every day, to people here in my small hometown of about 10000 people. I am estimating that at least 75 percent of the people I talk to about this Just Don't Care. Until the Bush team (or whoever is captain that day), brings death and destruction to their doorstep, they are happy with the way things are. I don't know, maybe even then they wouldn't care.
America: Love it or Leave it.
I'm seriously considering the latter...
