According to Dr. Turi, something is going to happen 8/9/07. We should keep our eyes on this one, because he has been more right than wrong in many cases!
He does not say this time what it will be. He's predicted many things correctly so i wanted to forewarn you all.

I guess I will be famous too if i put something out there (not an attack on you dgtempe) but generally, I could stand on a soap box and say something serious is going to happen tomorrow and just watch the news. SOMETHING WILL happen - that's a given. The world is in such a mess these days that anyone could be regarded as a psychic and something WILL happen on the 8/9/07 - it's inevitable. WHat gets under my skin is that no specifics are ever given as to when, where, what, etc etc. When something happens there is fanfare and the said person says "see, i told you SOMEthing was going to happen.

But we have 8/9/07/In the US thats 9th of Augst 2007

However in the UK (the educated bit of the world)
8/9/07 is the 8th of September 2007

So whats it to be.

Im still wondering what happened on the 9th of November??

Funnily enough, things that happen ever month are split into 3 parts. 1st-10th, 11-20th, and 21st-30th. Are world events that calculated? Also, if you really want to make a case, wheres evidence of whats happened on the days prior?

shearder and peyre... did you people go to Dr. Turi's site and read about his predictions before flaming the OP? If you had you would have learned (among other things) that it isn't about 'something happening' or some 'random event'. I'm not defending Dr. Turi or the endless stream of date-specific-predictions. I just hate the knee-jerk pre-debunk that always follows. It doesn't take a genius to make the high-probability prediction that nothing will happen.

jtma....thats just ridiculous. Did we go to his site? No...we didnt. Why? Cos the topic creator never posted a link! If he wanted to present something as a thread, he should have done it properly. Dont expect us to go chasing around for information.

I couldnt care less whether some idiot thinks he can predict the future, but if you want my attention, or the attention of anyone else lurking on these boards, have the decency to direct us to how and why. And if that requires posting a link to his site, then he should do so, or maybe, you should since youre so keen on us finding about this mans profound knowledge of what is to come.

Topic creator made a sentence about a doomsday prophecy, and then posted some dates...lol! Thats evidence? Give me a break, pathetic.

3-libras... I'm not patronizing you. And if you read my original post you will notice that it said --- quite clearly --- that I'm not defending Dr. Turi OR the endless stream of date-specific predictions that pop-up here. My problem is with the people that glom onto these predictions as soon as they are posted and play the high-probability 'nuthins gonna happen' schtick without even understanding the basis of the prediction.

dgtempe has been here for quite awhile. Dr. Turi has been the subject of numerous threads and I'm sure dg made the assumption that most of us knew who he was (hence no link). If a thread focuses on a singular event or story the link is important so people can locate it. But in this case it relates to a static website. It takes little effort to look into something a bit before commenting. Most of us do it all the time. We don't rely on the OP's links exclusively and usually --- if the thread interests us --- research it to find other perspectives, sources and angles. You'll see it all the time here at ATS.

Yes the title of this thread includes the date listed as 8/9/07 -
However, if you read the quote provided it CLEARLY

shows the months listed and then the dates.

I don't appreciate being considered "uneducated" because the way we write dates does "jive" with the way you think is proper.

while i don't share 3_libras' voracity, i do think that those predictions are rubbish. without exaggeration i saw 3 doomsday posts in the pas 3 days. why are we seeing an upsurge of these? as to jtma addressing some of the "prophecies", let me counter-point.

Again, i normally dont start a thread and leave and omit the link. Sorry.

This man impresses me because he predicted many things that already have come true. The latest being something happening on July 30 or the 1st, which was the bridge collapse. Off the top of my head, he predicted also a very big problem with someone in wrestling, and i could go on and on.

Now, he's not predicting THE END OF THE WORLD, he's just saying that on the 9th there will be danger.
So we should put him to the test, because he's got quite a batting average.
