This thread is devoted to the BEST song that a person/band put out. 1 hit wonders don't apply as they only had 1 hit.

I'll start this off. Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band. MANY hits. Any better than Katmandu? I think not. ROCK AND ROLL:

Believe me, I love my Def Leppard any way I can get it, but Rock of Ages has always and will always bring me to fist pumpin' air drummin' hysteria.

I love that song.

Here's one that never gets old and is, by far, the cream of the crop.

New Order
Temptation

I have to say new Order and Regret, in my opinion the best Rock song I have ever heard

Maybe Ive forgotten
the name and the address
Of everyone Ive ever known
Its nothing I regret
Save it for another day
Its the school exam
and the kids have run away

I would like a place I could call my own
Have a conversation on the telephone
Wake up every day that would be a start
I would not complain of my wounded heart

I was upset you see
Almost all the time
You used to be a stranger
Now you are mine

I wouldnt even trust you
Ive not got much to give
Were dealing in the limits
And we dont know who with
You may think that Im out of hand
That Im naive, Ill understand
On this occasion, its not true
Look at me, Im not you

I would like a place I could call my own
Have a conversation on the telephone
Wake up every day that would be a start
I would not complain of my wounded heart

I was a short fuse
Burning all the time
You were a complete stranger
Now you are mine

I would like a place I could call my own
Have a conversation on the telephone
Wake up every day that would be a start
I would not complain about my wounded heart

Just wait till tomorrow
I guess thats what they all say
Just before they fall apart

Anyone with a family or a tender heart will love this song. I have very ecclectic taste and love all types of music but this song in particular at this point in my life hits home.

Its a celebration of life and without further adieu,,,

Remember When by Alan Jackson. I couldn't embedd but enjoy.

Even if your not a country fan give it a shot.

Ooh, that is a fantastic song, but Dirty Work gets my vote.

Both great songs, hard to put a label on either

Great idea for a thread intrepid, how about some Queen? I grew up with them in my ears and would have to choose "It's Late", a real cracker that always has to be played LOUD!

Enjoy.

ps...Hendrix....all along the watchtower....spot-on.
The Cure...The Forest....ditto. Brilliant stuff.
