Why Do People Believe in God/Religion (NO FLAMING!!)

The power of belief is powerful. One of the main things that is done in America especially is instilling the concept of disbelief, no faith without hardline proof. I find that a lot of people who claim to believe in God use that type of belief as a crutch, not even allowing themselves to think for themselves. It's the opposite spectrum of the disbelief that is pushed from jump. Leaves a lot of people ill adjusted and spectators, looking for something to help them decide.

It's not everyone, but a lot of people. Everyday people who think they are doing right by God...
