Hello all, I recently received (Yesterday) from my girlfriend, a picture of her daughter at age 1 (1999). In the picture, her daughter is playing with a Christmas toy, and on the television in the background, there is an image on the screen of a boy who looks angry to say the least. I scanned the image in for everyone to look at and see what they think. I have put the raw scanned image on here but I am going the check the image out myself. Also good to note that I asked her if the T.V. was on and she said no. I thought the left side of the T.V. had an "on" light but she said the light was on the right of the T.V. and if you look closely at the light, it is blue not green, also there are no lights on video player, etc. the image is posted below:

I can set your mind at rest, I hope. The image of the boy is on TV. Maybe not the video, but definitely appearing on TV in the normal manner.

Can you see the dark area covering the top third of the screen? This is caused by the refresh rate of the broadcast TV image. The camera caught the screen as the image was being refreshed from above. The same thing happens with video cameras when you try to shoot the TV. Modern computer monitors have a much higher refresh rate, and this can be synced to TV output, which is how the TV news set up their plasma displays for on-screen use.

It's much more likely that she forgot the tv was on at the time than this being a ghost. Especially since as you pointed at , the pic was taken back in 1999

Sounds feasible to me ( pretends to sound like an expert lol )

I would have to say the picture on the TV does not appear to be something you would normally see in say a television show or movie.

A close up such as that pose does not seem like Sitcom/movie related.

A home movie perhaps. Possibly didn't realize it was running?

Hi again.

Thanks for the replies. I have asked my g/f about the T.V. and she said the T.V. was definitely not on because on Christmas day, they would not have the tv on until after the kids had opened up their presents, and while she was making dinner she would put the T.V. on and put in their Christmas songs video tape (a Christmas tradition). I am obviously going by her word only so I am as objective as anyone on this. I do know that it is not a home movie, she says they never had a camcorder and I know for a fact she has no videos of the kids whatsoever. Also, she does not recognize the child on the T.V. and I do not recognize the child to be a member or friend of her family. Again, this is her word and my input so take it as you will. She is however very sincere in her belief that this is not an image from a video source, I just wanted to share this with everyone, thanks again for the replies.

very odd indeed... almost looks like he is looking at her. Jealous about the presents, maybe?

I would say, do some background research on the house. Also try and figure out if this kid is an actor maybe. Very good detail, you can see the stripes on his jacket and everything.

I have tried inverting it and zooming but, I'm not really finding anything more interesting then the boy himself.

Is it just me or isnt the kid on tv the same boy in the photo on the shelf behind the little girl?

Yep it shure does look like the little fellow. Maybe there was a baby cam pointed at that youngster and it was being broadcast on so said off TV. Just my idea and thoughts.

Yeah who is that in the picture, it does look a little like the boy on the T.V. Also, maybe its just me, but the expressions on the boy's face and on your girlfriend's daughter's face look similar; maybe its just because she's little and that face is kind of a "standard" or common look for babies...

Sorry no way in my view is this a ghost photo, others have posted them on here but this just isn't it. I mean if it is, it's a picture of a ghost on TV.

Frankly I'm so confident that this isn't a ghost picture I would just tell you're girlfriend "the human memory is a very unreliable thing and perhaps there was something on TV", also maybe the camera flash activated the TV? this can happen as TV's use infrared to switch on, and it might explain why there is only half an image.

On the more sceptical side of things that boys face looks remarkibly like the photo of the boy on top of the vidio shelf.

I do believe in the after life, and ghosts, but personally I think it would have been better if you haden't posted this picture as it reduces the quaity of evidence we have had from other ATS users on this forum.

I know this movie.

It is either: A. A sequel to a nightmare on elm street, where a young boy is possessed and rips his way out of a hospital bed with platic covering.
Or
B. another film where the above happens.

To support my theory, if you look closely the child appears to be wearing Krugers trademark hat and shirt...

hi all its the girlfriend who took the picture, regarding your theory of nightmare on elm street been played on the tv is ridiculous!!!!!!................. the picture was taken christmas morning why would i be watchin that film at that time with my daughter in the room. Christmas has always been very traditional for my family and as this was my daughters first christmas i know the tv was not on. Im greatful for all your comments

In my opinion, this is a genuine image of a real ghost boy on the screen. Note the scary child as it stares at the christmas scene into the room from the screen. Nothing this terrifying could posisbly exist unless it was a real scary ghost kid on the tv screen. In addition, i'd like to remind you that the movie Poltergeist featured a trapped living child inside the tv screen. This can be no coincidence therefore in my closing argument I shall say this.

This is a ghost child. It's terrifying and it's real.

*IF* the image has not been tampered with by some trickster, then I believe it's entirely legitimate. The image shown on the TV screen isn't anything you'd see in the course of simply watching television. No background, no borders and it's a close up, ten times larger than the proportions usually associated with things on TV.

However as noted before, the boy looks strikingly similar to the boy in the photo on the bookcase. If I were trying to debunk this photo, I'd say that the image on the TV screen is the paused frame of a home movie that's playing on the VCR...

It'd be a very clever way to produce this precise effect in my opinion. Any "on" lights of the electronics could easily have been blacked out with a photo editor, especially considering the dark undetailed portion of the TV stand where the VCR/DVD would sit. You'd not even notice it if a few "on" lights were blacked out and blended with the dark background.

If it's a fake, it's a pretty darn clever one. I wouldn't insist 100% that it is though.

In my opinion it is way to clear and precise to be a ghost pic. Looking at other ghost photos they either are the classic orbs or they are whisps or smoke or vapor. I don't know what camera you were using but it could just be a superimposed picture from your camera or if you sent the film to somewhere that processed it for you it could be from another person's film the reason you don't recognize the boy.

I just wanted to add my non expert opinion on this photo. IMO this is absolutely NOT a ghost. I copied the image to gimp so I could zoom in and look around.

First, I noticed that there are two lights on the bottom of the tv, the blue one on the left that the op mentions and also a green one on the right, just where his gf said the power light was located on that tv.

Second, the area under the tv, where the VCR is located appears to be distorted, almost as if it had been scratched out in a photo editing program so as to disguise the fact that it was indeed on.

Lastly, the photo above the mantel that other posters have mentioned intrigued me because there was no reply from the op or his gf as to the identity of this child. So, I followed the link to the you tube video that the op's gf posted and scrolled down until I found a video entitled "Our Family"

At 48 seconds and just before the end there is a photo of a young boy and girl, both blonde. The boy in this video is older than the "ghost" on the tv, but there does seem to be a striking resemblance, at least to me.

To me, this proves that this photo was staged, but each is entitled to draw his own conclusions.
