What mind boggling colors could future astronauts find on distant life bearing planets? Stars, most likely, do not have the same distribution of light colors as our Sun. Scientists contend that photosynthesis on planets in other star systems will not necessarily look the same as on Earth.

NASA News Release.
A team of NASA scientists led by a member of the Spitzer Science Center believe they have found a way to predict the color of plants on planets in other solar systems.

Green, yellow or even red-dominant plants may live on extra-solar planets, according to scientists whose two scientific papers appear in the March issue of the journal, Astrobiology. The scientists studied light absorbed and reflected by organisms on Earth, and determined that if astronomers were to look at the light given off by planets circling distant stars, they might predict that some planets have mostly non-green plants.

And is it possible that one would be able to discern many more shades of the millions of colors we can discern here on Earth? There are a few reasons for the range of wavelengths that we can see one being the result of interactions between energy and objects in this range of wavelengths.

Whatever, astronauts visiting an extra solar planet for the first time will most likely find it fascinating, bizarre, weird and beyond comprehension!

I would venture to say that we would not see these colours because our eyes havnt evolved in their presence.

When you consider that we only percieve a mere fraction of all there is to percieve, the idea of colour... lol. There are colours which we have never seen before, which would boggle the mind of the average joe.

Right! I believe those who've experienced astral travel, were flabbergasted by the amazing colors they could percieve - millions of shades more!! But that's in another dimension. It's probable one could pervieve more colors in the same dimension but on another star system. Heck! I wish I could join the ride!

You can join the ride. The information and tools you need can be found through Google, if not here already on ATS.. aswell as yourself (ultimately you could do it yourself without external input..)

Everyone is capable of having Astral Projections, it just depends on how much will power you have, and whether you actually believe its possible. Some research on altered states of mind, paranormal, shamanism etc will reveal a world of information about whats possible using the human mind.

The biggest conspiracy of them ALL is the one to supress the information about your own personal power, and what can be achieved. Your imagination is the limit..

Supress?

When was it supressed.

Your allowed to learn how. There are people who believe in the mojo and practice it. The only supression is having to research where to go and getting there (physically)

Seriously, just walk to your local weird ass looking store and ask about Astral projection and all that other stuff and BAM. Instant belief.

I dont really care, but eh. You want to fly around while invisible? whatever floats your boat.

Personally i prefer to read and research (Ancient History, not the kind of research people on this site do. Thats just weird)

With that in mind wouldn't it be easier, and cheaper (not as cool tho) to postulate the spread of 'visible' light from each given star and recreate in the lab?

I don't agree that our eyes will be capable of seeing any more of the electro magnetic spectrum because the light source is from a different sun - I may be wrong but surly thats been tested.

Things would look very different tho - a colder star would give off more red and orange (longer wavelengths) and a hotter one more towards the blue end (shorter wave lengths), combine that with the atmosphere and it would look very different from the natural light from earth.

What a 'Yellow' Daff would look like if you could see into the ultra violet (like wot the bee's can
)
