WASHINGTON: An independent NASA report has found that on two occasions astronauts were drunk before flying on space shuttle mission.
A panel set up by NASA to review the health of astronauts concluded that on at least two occasions astronauts were allowed to launch into space despite warnings from doctors that they were too intoxicated to fly, Aviation Week & Space Technology reported Thursday.
The panel reported "heavy use of alcohol" by the astronauts within 12 hours of flight in violation of the "bottle to throttle" rule, the magazine reported online
