Thank you for this reply and insight into how you see things up north. I can understand your way of thinking and how you don't want to be like the
US. Here is one thing that some forget to remember.
When you become a powereful country you have to use that power for good. If the US were to pull its troops and other support from all foreign
countries what do you think will happen? Who will take over for these operations? Food, money, and medical care
On top of that having this amount of power brings up another issue, responsibility. Smaller countries depend on the US for help and having the power
to help is something one aspect of this responsibility that comes with power. Believe it or not, protecting Canada is one of those responsibilities,
hence this thread.
No matter what any of us may think of what should be kept sacred or allowed to be unified, it will all become one sooner or later. This NAU will
happen and the seperate Mexican, US, and Canadian cultures are going to have to get use to this change.
I am sure that many will not be happy, you voiced your concern about your healthcare system and your water. I can safely say that many items will be
discussed and plans will be drawn up on how to make everything come together. Those are the meetings that I would like to see on tv or online, but for
some reason i'm thinking they will be kept quiet until they are almost ready for approval. It will take time and many hours of debating for anything
to change, so it may not happen in our lifetime.
Nothing stays the same and change will advance the human race. Stopping these changes from happening because of the need to be Canadian, American, or
Mexican will have to be replaced with the idea that we are all human and should have fewer borders and more unity. If it comes down to someone having
an ego problem I can't offer any help.
I hope this makes sense to those who are having a hard time understanding these changes. I don't stereotype or hold opinions on anything that I
didn't spend time researching. That is how I deny ignorance. I don't know of any bad decisions being made about the NAU since I haven't read
anything that bothers me.
This is my opinion from what I have seen and that opinion is subject to change. I wish for all of us to become one big happy family and allow this
union to bring us together as humans, not as seperate countries. Societies, cultures, and countries will eventually turn into something new. This is
one of those steps and we should be happy that we are around to be part of it.
