Italian Police Uncover A Bomb School For Terrorists After Raiding A Mosque

Police in central Italy say they have uncovered a bomb school for Islamist militants after raiding a mosque in Perugia and making three arrests.

Evidence of training in explosives and poisons, and instructions on flying a Boeing 747 were reportedly found.

Police said the suspected cell had links to a group associated with Osama Bin Laden's al-Qaeda network.

They seized the imam and two other men, all Moroccans, and have a warrant for a fourth man believed to be abroad

Given what police found it looks like they had serious plans which included posion, airplanes and explosives, not something to take lightly when you consider they may have missed a few.

This is good post, thanks for posting. The news release was troubling. I am glad they have found and stopped this one but here is something else that is worth noting in the report.

The director of the Cultural Institute of the Italian Islamic Community, Sheikh Abdul Adid Palazzi, told BBC News that he was not surprised to hear of the arrests.

"It is the top of the iceberg in our country - like in the rest of Western Europe. Most mosques are controlled by extremist pro-terror organisations - 90% of mosques," he said.

Hasn't made the regular news here. I wonder why????

MSM media bias would be my guess. They do not want to cover news showing progress in catching terrorists they only want to report them winning.

I dont understand why if so many Muslims are supposedly against terrorism then why dont they go to the police when they find out about these things? Where are all these so called "Moderates"?

Is it maybe because while the majority of Muslims may not be terrorists the majority do at least hold some support for them?

Right, so then why would they report on every major terror threat stopped,
as well as report that Al Queda, while gaining power again, has never been a greatly powerful
entity and continues not to be.

Perhaps because Moderates in Europe don't go to Mosques regularly, much like how
most Christians don't go to church every Sunday, or perhaps because they are so
disgusted by the teachings of these extremist Mosques that they don't go to them.

Apart from that just because someone goes to a Mosque that something like this is
happening in, does'nt mean they will be aware of it, I mean it's not like they broadcast
to their congregations that they are terrorists and making these things.

I think you missed the point. As Roper and now I are pointing out the coverage is not reaching evreyone. It is only reaching those areas that want to carry the good side. Many media outlets have chosen not to carry stories like this, one can only assume you have missed seeing that while others have not.
