UK troop reserves almost gone

The head of the Army has warned that British troops are so stretched that the nation's military reserves are "almost non-existent".In the memo, leaked to the Daily Telegraph, Gen Sir Richard Dannatt said the Army was undermanned because of operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.

So a so called leaked memo is released to the media, with regards to the shortage of troops defending, the home front. Lets hope no other country, decides to attack the UK.

They are so overstretched, that if anything happened here there would be no way would they be able to defend us. What would we do, ask for help from europe? or the US?

Either way you look at this, the Army needs to recruit more men and women into service. Is the T/A overstretched also? Can the UK rely on the T/A to do the job off full-time soldiers?
