Pie' you slay... neuro. LOL. Pretty routine but not without risk as there is an AH at both ends of the fibre-optics. A full colonoscopy takes about an hour and change for a good GI person with the client fully under. There will be video! A syggy takes less time with the "vic" dosed with Ativan or Vallium or any one of the benzodioxipin family... up here (Canada) NOS is the preferred intoxicant (at least by me). Had both procedures and my Doctor of the nether-regions says "see you in 36 months". Once you get two "clean" visits they don't sked them as often.

Should they find polyps that are small they are clipped and sealed with a cottery (arc welder for meat). Should they be larger a number of options are available from a "noose" and clipping to liquid nitrogen introduced through a fine tubule within the scope.

In all cases they try and recover some of the polyp for analysis. Or should that be Anal Lysis? He'll be NPO (nothing per oral) afterwards if they do some cuttin' for a day or so to avoid infection and stress on the lower GI wall which can cause "occult" bleeds. They will administer lomotil or similar to slow the peristaltic wave and valsalva manouvres are a no-no too if they cut.

Look on the Net for pics for what 43' will be probed with... the good scopes are made in China under licence and some do come from Russia. There may be some American companies that make them... but I'd be pleasantly surprised if they actually manufacture them in the States.

Camp David eh? Private ceremony. What, Bethesda not good enough or too crowded and over-booked? I hope he does OK... when things go bad they "can" cut him a new one or re-section butt he'd never be the same.

The anals of this will be buried in the bowels of history.

Cheers,

Vic

This is totally unfair!! He has been sticking it to us for ages and it is about time someone stuck it to him, but it is unfair that he gets anesthesia!!

You just make my day, Bush is the man he love to wag wars, so he should take like a man without anesthesia.

lol

Bush has had this procedure 3 times?

They have called it a colonoscopy when in fact he is due to have another opterectomy... it is a delicate operation and obviously has failed in the past. This will involve removing his eyes from his rectum and hopefully will improve his outlook on life. I really hope the operation works this time.

I do hope ol' W comes through alright, I wouldn't wish anyone to die with a tube up their nether region, Cheney would make George seem like a kitten.

Will there be a swearing in for Cheney? Or just a seccession of power? Oy, this almost stinks of a conspiracy. I'm crossing my fingers he pulls through, and maybe they'll pull a little common sense out of that blind eye

Here's to ya W!

.....hmmmm that just seems weird to say

Just to be safe lets hope they feed him a pretzel just before

Bush may be under anesthesia during his operation, but the Colonoscopy of having Cheney as President, even if only for ~2 hours, is cruel and unusual punishment!

So this means that Condoleeza Rice will be Vice President, doesn't it.

Actually no Condi isnt.

Nancy Pelosi is next in line followed by :-

Actually the position of Vice President is vacant for these short periods. If Bush was permanently disabled, then Cheney would appoint a new VP. Only if both the President and VP were both disabled would Nancy Pelosi and Presidential succession plan come into play.

Just thought it was interesting what the Neocon hangers-on are wishing for when Cheney takes office (not that it changes the power structure in any way

A Busy Saturday [Kathryn Jean Lopez]

Readers are really into Cheney being president for awhile. Suggestions for Acting President Cheney include

Bomb Iran.
Commute the sentences of those border agents.
Fire Mike Chertoff.
Tell Harry Reid to ... well, you know...
Pardon Scooter.

UPDATE: An e-mail:

Three hours wouldn't be long enough to actually bomb Iran, given the necessary flight time. But ICBM's can be there in about a half-hour.
In addition, I think President Cheney should have a target practice session out by Rose Garden...

Gee, what a swell bunch of dudes.

That bunch of swell dudes wouldnt act the same without the security and comfort of the internet.Put an equal amount of those muppets in a room with the rest of us and they would soon change their tune.

I've heard about Bush's reasons for the extension of powers of surveillance...but this is just uncolonstitutional!!!

Perhaps CIA had informed him that Al Qaeda had possibly infiltrated his guts, and that 'benign polips' are about to start insurgency. Therefore, urgent recon mission is required.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

You know, this whole thing has really given me a great idea. I think it's time for the Democrats to break the Iraq war stalemate... who wants to co-sponsor "The Presidential Colon Health Monitoring Act of 2007?"

Every year the president will need funds from congress for anesthesia. This will allow the dems to purse-string us out of Iraq without raising any controversy about playing politics with the lives of our troops.

Why all the fuss, presidents and co get the best health care. How often are people like these terminally sick in office.

Anyone see kissinger, looks the same as he did back when he was with nixon, and thats 35 years ago. There are always rumours of a advanced health care for the mega rich, so you never know.
