Source: Boy gets £44,000 in eBay parcel

[The money was] mistakenly sent to a 16-year-old boy who bought a Playstation Two for £95 on eBay.

But, if the money remains unclaimed the family could potentially apply for it to be returned to them under the Police Property Act.

Pray it isn't claimed!!!

As for the Trader??

He's lucky it went to honest people!

I am far from a spoil sport, but I know my ability to zig around the karmic factor. :bash:

I'd turn it back in and wish for a reward.

That is very odd, perhaps someone really wanted the games he ordered with it and
felt bad about taking them, or not.

I don't think I would have returned it given the circumstances, though I would give 70%
of it to charity.

Iori,

I think the truth of the matter is, that when you buy or sell on ebay, you give all your details upfront, so in theory, the person could simply track you down, but why haven't they done so?

I think the seller was not paying taxes or something, to have that much cash lying around, and that's why I think heor she won't be collecting the cash!

I think that the family will get to keep the money. Wouldn't everyone agree?
