For a while now I have been wondering if HIV/AIDS was created by a government or other group as a biological weapon.

I would like assistance to either ratify or debunk this theory, as the internet is a rather large place, and I'm also searching in other media forms for an answer.

I ask that links to articles be posted on this thread, and any personal comments/theories to be sent to me via U2U, so they won't clutter the boards.

thanks in advance for any help.

A good read would be emerging viruses - Aids and ebola by DR. Len Horowitz...I think I spelt his name right. hiv sucks as a killer imop, it's more about making killer money. One fact is that DR. Robert Gallo was a co discoverer of hiv and also has the patent on the hiv test hmm ... what's even more interesting is that all of his findings were presented as fact without peer review by the us government of all things.

any disease, pandemic can be used as a
weapon, if government' ignore it and fail
to provide vaccines and anti-retroviril drugs
2 the millions who need them.

'THEY' call it mother natures fault.

I think these programs r viable, hopefully
in the next year. A big prob' in Africa is
that gossip is spread that condoms r the
work of the devil.

HIV as a weapon?
Traditionally weapons are meant to be quick, efficient methods of killing or maiming.
All HIV does is slowly kill off the poor and line the pockets of the pharmecuetical industrialists.

Depends on the results you want to achieve. Let say a nuclear bomb is a a quick and effective weapon if you want to get get rid of a mass of people in the shortest amount of time. But if you want to control the masses, not destroy them, there are many weapons to use. By the fear it generates, HIV/AIDS is a good candidate. It can restore control over populations where religion and belief fail. Fear of aids contains its own percentage of beliefs too...

Beside that you also may consider the existence of different kinds of wars : poiltical, religious, economic, etc.

Regarding the latter, no doubts there are winners : pharmaceuticals giants, latex industries, etc.

The question is, was hiv/aids designed as a weapon ?

Not sure the virus itself was, but the aids phenomoenon is, without any doubt. There are very strange things in its history, e.g. what razorbackhater said about Dr. Gallo's fantasies....

Did you ever wondered why AZT is recognized as the treatment for AIDS despite the fact it is a cytotoxic agent ?

That's all, eh?

There's little doubt in my mind that HIV/AIDS was created for a purpose.

I've heard that the blankets that were used by white people who had small-pox were given deliberately as gifts to some native americans. Their tribes were then wiped-out by the disease. Try an internet search on 'indian smallpox blanket'.

I don't know if it is completely true, but I've read it in more than a few sources.

So, who were the real 'savages'?

About HIV: We would not need to invent a new disease to use as a weapon: it would be easier to modify one we already have - that's why they have weaponized anthrax.

'Technology' is too often confused with 'civilized society'. The two are NOT interchangable.

I've heard in the news a few years back that a bunch of people were at Paramount's Great America in California going around and stabbing people with HIV infected needles.. it can definitely be a terrifying and effective weapon.

It is true that many items, not only blankets were given to Native Americans (Of both continets, North and South) were "infested" with smallpox. Smallpox was an European disease, and Native Americans had little immunodefenses (Not sure if that was a word) to it. I'm not sure if it was a delibrate action or not, but knowing the how the europeans felt superior to everyone else, I wouldn't doubt it.

And I heard that Napoleon used the corpses of plague victims. Not sure if it's true or not.

I agree with you Gnomon, It would be easier to modify an existing disease than create a new one.

Something I found on HIV:

At a House Appropriations hearing in 1969, the Defense Department's Biological Warfare (BW) division requested funds to develop through gene-splicing a new disease that would both resist and break down a victim's immune system. "Within the next 5 to 10 years it would probably be possible to make a new infective micro-organism which could differ in certain important respects from any known disease-causing organisms. Most important of these is that it might be refractory to the immunological and therapeutic processes upon which we depend to maintain our relative freedom from infectious diseases." (See - A Higher Form of Killing: The Secret Story of Chemical and Biological Warfare by R. Harris and J. Paxman, p 266, Hill and Wang, pubs.) The funds were approved.

AIDS appeared within the requested time frame, and has the exact characteristics specified.

In 1972, the World Health Organization published a similar proposal: "An attempt should be made to ascertain whether viruses can in fact exert selective effects on immune function, e.g., by ...affecting T cell function as opposed to B cell function. The possibility should also be looked into that the immune response to the virus itself may be impaired if the infecting virus damages more or less selectively the cells responding to the viral antigens." (Bulletin of the W.H.O., vol. 47, p 257- 274.) This is a clinical description of the function of the AIDS virus.

The incidence of AIDS infections in Africa coincides exactly with the locations of the W.H.O. smallpox vaccination program in the mid-1970's (London Times, May 11, 1987). Some 14,000 Haitians then on UN secondment to Central Africa were also vaccinated in this campaign. Personnel actually conducting the vaccinations may have been completely unaware that the vaccine was anything other than what they were told.

A striking feature of AIDS is that it's ethno-selective. The rate of infection is twice as high among Blacks, Latinos and Native Americans as among whites, with death coming two to three times as swiftly. And over 80% of the children with AIDS and 90% of infants born with it are among these minorities. "Ethnic weapons" that would strike certain racial groups more heavily than others have been a long-standing U.S. Army BW objective. (Harris and Paxman, p 265)

Under the current U.S. administration biological warfare research spending has increased 500 percent, primarily in the area of genetic engineering of new disease organisms.

The "discovery" of the AIDS virus (HTLV3) was announced by Dr. Robert Gallo at the National Cancer Institute, which is on the grounds of Fort Detrick, Maryland, a primary U.S. Army biological warfare research facility. Actually, the AIDS virus looks and acts much more like a cross between a bovine leukemia virus and a sheep visna (brain-rot) virus, cultured in a human cell culture, than any virus of the HTLV group.

Go check out the information by Dr. Len Horwowitz (previously mentioned). He pretty much proves that it was in fact developed as a biological weapon used for population control. It was introduced in New York and Africa at roughly the same time through innoculations. The two groups were gays and blacks. Think about that before you rush to the doctor to get your next flu shot. You really don't know what they're putting into you. Maybe a virus. Maybe a microchip. Who knows. You sure won't - till it's too late.
I'll get that site for you as soon as I can.

Here's Horowitz' site. It's also an excellent resource for anyone researching the Anthrax mailings.

One thing that is soul striking about AIDS is its ethno-selective tendencies. Even after AIDS had spread in places like the United States, where the black there seldom come to Africa, the rate of AIDS infections among the blacks and Native Americans is twice as high compared to the white Americans, with death coming more swiftly. It is believed that more than 80% of the children with AIDS and 90% infants born with it are among these minorities (Paxman and Harris).

AIDS is the only ethno-selective disease in the world. I think the government did create it to gain white supremacy across the globe and for population control. We, the public, know so little about the origin of HIV. The government went around telling people about a monkey biting a human in Africa. What a load of garbage.

HIV isn't even near being lethal enough to be called a weapon. Look rather into the flu. That's a killer.

I always thought it was created in a lab for a bio weapon. I think I remember someone posting a video on ats about it. I'll see if I can find it.

In Melbourne anyways........ there have been a few cases of armed hold ups using a blood filled syringe instead of a gun.

I believe that HIV/AIDS was created by the U.S. government to kill gay people and African Americans about 10-15 years ago. (no offense to African Americans)

what is even more disturbing is the fact that people would (still do?) get treated with azt. azt is a terminator, it destroys all cells, and cannot discriminate between HIV or any other cells. azt was originally made to use as a cancer drug, but it was deemed too dangerous to use and pulled in the 60's. why was this drug used to treat HIV? when you have a family member die of this bull# it tends to make you angry, my cousin died of azt poisoning...not HIV, aids or whatever you may want to call it.

Why "no offense to African Americans" and not gays? Is that a knock on gay's? It really pisses me off when people think that gay people deserve to get AIDS. If you didn't mean this then disregard my post, but it just sounded like one deserved it and another didn't.
