I have not once in my entire life had a dream. I just fall asleep and it's like I wake up immediately afterwards, but it's morning. I never dream about anything, and I don't recall in the morning any dreams happening. Is that normal? I'm always hearing about how people dream about weird things...but I've never been able to experience a dream

Shouldn't I be dead now? Because I heard somewhere that it is very important to have dreams

i wouldnt really worry about it...but if u do...try stimulating ur mind with a good fantasy book or that and try and picture it before u sleep...it may help.

If its really bothering u...speak to someone or is there anything in ur life that is troubling u?

Be thankful...as all my dreams recently are nightmares!

Good luck
Gryff

You most probably forget your dreams. Especially if you live one of those hasty, society controlled lifestyles. Sleep work, sleep work, sleep work 5 or 6 days a week.

If you let a doctor monitor your brainwaves and your eyes. I can guarantee that REM will be measured.

No need to worry. Everyone dreams, it's just that some people don't remember them in the morning.

I think that there are different conditions that effect your way of dreaming and how well you remember them. I found that when I was pregnant, I dreamt every night and always remembered my dreams. also for a short period of my life I was prescribed seroxat, an antidepressant which contains paroxatine. This also caused me to have some really wild and wonderful dreams.
perhaps the conditions that effect you in your life just don't enable you to remember your dreams. This doesn't mean that they don't happen.
I feel sorry for you because I love dreaming. Sometimes I will wake from a dream and be enjoying it so much that I will try to go straight back to sleep and get back into it before I wake fully. I can usually do it too but the fact that I am aware of it I think can change the course of the dream from that which it would have followed if I hadn't woken during it.

You are not correct. You are dreaming every single night. The fact that you seem not to remember your dreams is in a way a sign that your dreams are working, because you go through that brainwave state with nothing too unconsciously shocking to wake you up soon after.

Try having some waking dreams and fantasies to make up for your disappointment!

If you didnt dream you would go insane, that means you wouldnt be getting enough REM sleep.

Damn it! You just ruined it. Placebo effects tend to work, that's why theyre called placebo EFFECTS. (heh heh, wish I got there first...)

Not everyone has dreams just like everyone does not have a soul or spirit.

In time evolution and growth provide these things to all.

sorry neo, you're wrong. Everyone dreams.

You sleep in roughly about 100 minute cycles. You can either dream on the way down into a cycle, or the way back up. If you're someone who dreams on the way down, it could be over an hour before you come back up to a state conscious enough to recognize that you were dreaming. How often do you remember something your eyes saw but your conscious mind gave literally ZERO thought to, an hour later? the answer: Never. Same goes with dreams.

I was thinking the samething before I read THENEO's post. If you don't dream, you don't have a soul.

I don't think that's what he meant, though I could be wrong. What I got was a comparison, not everyone dreams, just as not everyone has a soul. *shrug* I'm sure you can still dream while not having a soul.
