Leaders Urging Iraqis to Take Up Arms for Defense

www.breitbart.com

Prominent Shiite and Sunni politicians called on Iraqi civilians to take up arms to defend themselves after a weekend of violence that claimed more than 220 lives, including 60 who died Sunday in a surge of bombings and shootings around Baghdad.
The calls reflect growing frustration with the inability of Iraqi security forces to prevent extremist attacks.

This is possibly the only way to get control of the situation as I see it , some will, no doubt call this a recipe for disaster. a throwing of gas on the already burning problem , but perhaps for some, this may be the only way of combating the insurgents they see commiting the acts of violence around them. In any event this is a sign of growing desperation by the leaders of Iraq. next stop, total meltdown.

Excellent thread. It is very timely in the sceme of things.
I was just reading John Hogues online e-book "The War With Iran" Fasinating book with so much untold information reguarding the politics of that entire region and the religious need for the ultimate fight with the israeli/crusaders/infidels.
It is possibly going to lead to more push within the region to promote all out WWIII.If so it will not be long before the war reaches us here in the U.S. financially if not physically.

Think of it this way, if civilians were to arm themselves
it would make it easier for the soldiers to yell out
ALQAEDA! and arrest the civilian for holding a
gun. It would also make it easier for terrorists
to attain guns and ammunitions.

Just my 2 cents

well, why would the soldiers yell out
ALQAEDA! when the civilians would be helping them achieve their goals??
I also dont think that the terrorist's are having any trouble finding guns in that part of the world, or any other weapon for that matter.

And I guess that if the US would have been invaded and many foreign fighters were here blowing stuff up the only way to defeat them would be to disarm the american people right?

Hmmm..
No-Confidence Vote Looms Over Iraq's PM

I think the No-Confidence vote and the fact
leaders are telling Iraqis to take up arms is a sign
that civil unrest is about to reach a whole new level.

Taking up arms will probably be the only way to survive the civil war many are predicting will escalate into WWIII or armageddon whichever label you want to slap on it.
