Well I cant think of an single application that would warrant a switch to running windows natively on an Mac. I would of course run Windows on an Mac because my IT training is based around Windows 2003 and XP.
There is always the option of virtual machines unless hardware access is an priority.

If you were talking about controlling an network environment it would be an differnt story .

The main reason for a programmer to switch to windows would be visual studio!

The rate at which you can code applications is greatly improved in newer releases.

Also, .net is the new java!

The only other reaon to switch to windows is that there are far more pirated softwares available to choose from!
