US accuses Iran of attacks in Iraq

A secret force attached to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard planned and executed a highly sophisticated attack which killed five American soldiers in Iraq, the US army claimed today.

For the first time, America laid out evidence allegedly showing an Iranian hand behind a specific assault on its forces in Iraq.

In the past, both Britain and America have only made general accusations of Iranian support for insurgents inside its neighbour and Teheran has vigorously denied these charges.
