Well here goes. I was wondering if anyone else has these things happen to them or if I'm weird or just normal.

Since I was a little boy I would get these weird 'Attacks'
I can't really explain the feeling at all. Its very confusing but I guess you would call it a numbing of my head. My thought and 'inner voice' fly by really fast. As if my inner voice is speaking gibberish. sometimes I cannot make out what it is saying. My head gets a sortof tingly sensation. I can't even control my thoughts.

Then I get this weird feeling in my throat as I am about to vomit but I do not feel sick at all. I just get this feeling. Sometimes my vision will slightly blr and I feel like the room is spinning.

I sometimes also loose sense of my surroundings for the moments these attacks last. A couple times I became short of breath but most of the times I don't but my breathing becomes a fast pace.

This truly is a horrible feeling if anyone has any ideas of what it may be please tell me as I am concerned.

This started since I was about 7 and happens at random times. I used to get t more frequently like 1 or 2 times a week but now it may only happen about 1 time a month.

Another thing that happens to me is sometimes my vision cuts of entirely and it fades in as a Grey color returning to my normal vision. The Grey kinda distorts my vision like water (looking in a river) but Grey. This only lasts about 5 seconds top. Also when this happens I loose a partial sense of my hearing like it is being dulled.

Sounds potentially very serious. Have you spoken to a physician about this?

this has happened for about 8 years. I really don't think its seizures i have talked to family and a doctor once says it is anxiety attacks. So im not sure I'm confused. Its not like i get hurt its just a very uncomfortable feeling. I have not gotten one for about a month now. I can control my movements.

O and about the vision turning grey. This happens to me randomly to but at different occassions from my 'Attacks' like when I get up from bed or some other times; I'll have to keep track. The vision doesnt give me a weird feeling either.

Sounds to me like you might need a second opinion-this stuff is not normal and something very serious is going on. Your doctor is probably a general practitioner and doesn't have as much experience with psychological issues as a specialist would-talk to him/her again and ask if (s)he would refer you to the best psychological specialist he or she knows. Don't get frustrated if you have to wait a long time to get an appointment with a specialist-you can't afford not to get to the bottom of this.

This sounds very similar to something I've been experiencing since I was a child. Also, it was more frequent when I was younger but is less frequent these days.

I never considered it to be negative, in fact I always felt it was one of the weirdest things happening to me because it wasn't painful but it also wasn't something I was the least bit familiar with.

My suggestion: meditate.

Well I don't know how but want to learn very much. Is there any resources that you can point me to. And wow yes you must know what I am talking about because it is way less frequent than when I was younger, but I still will try to go to a specialist but am worrying that they will not know what it is or make up some crap and try to feed me drugs to solve it.

And no it does not hurt to me it is just uncomfortable.

His symptoms are definitely not those of epilepsy. I've actually had two seizures in my lifetime and I can verify that I didn't experience anything like the OP. I can only recommend medical treatment, but it seems you've already done that.

Have you been given any medication for this or the original "anxiety" diagnosis?

Heck, why not try both routes? Both the specialist and the meditation-you can decide for yourself what solution is best. Don't knock drugs either-I had serious depression and anxiety in high school and I doubt I would have ever recovered had it not been for medication.

Thanks for posting, no i have not taken medical treatment for this. I don't really see the need not to as most medicine has side effects.

I do know that the first time I got this feeling is when I was 7 and got sick with a temperature of a 104.4 degrees Fahrenheit . It happened more recently then but has stopped tremendously. I think I have only gotten it once this year. since January

you can still control your feelings and actions? anxiety attack. i had them too, stay away form caffeine, cigs in the morning, stay hydrated, (if you drink booz, stay hydrated!!)
take alot b vitamins and vitamin c, potassium is key too, eat bananas or other fruits, low potassium or vit c or b's, can cause symptoms of dizziness high heart beat , fading out, hyperventilating, passing out,
it's amazing what stress can do, even in the back of your mind, you don't even feel it coming. i know, ive had it
stay away from the caff and booz and cigs
my doc tried to give me one of those anti depress. no way!!

I've also found that physical exercise sufficient to make you break into a sweat every day works wonders for mental health.

Well I dont think its a good idea to ask for "medical" advice here you should really see a specialist if a regular Dr. isnt doing it for you. some of the symptoms though do sound to me like a panic attack or as you stated anxiety attack the throat thing and the the flashing part at least but the rest sound serious if you start seeing grey only and your vision gets "wavy" i think its time to go to the Dr. again and see a specialist and possible a shrink as talking to one will help with your attacks.

Since you have had them since you were 7 (dont know how old you are now) but I think you already know what they are and dont get to alarmed when it happens because you have an idea of what will happen next.
