Hee, hee, this is a little tongue in cheek of course as I know that Jesus wouldnt condone any political party we have right now but I still think
there is a point to be made. Its been clear for years that the right, especially in America, has claimed Jesus as their own and perceives their
politics to be the closest to his teachings. I find this absurd. Like in any good totalitarian state religion has been used as means of control and
formed to their own means. It matters not which religion it is. Ill assume we all know the basic basis of right and left politics. Anyway to voice
the reasons why I think the right perceive Jesus as 'on their side' and why it's absurd would take ages, so instead Ill put some reasons why I
think Jesus was the original commie pinko, or, what I actually think, a socialist, and invite others to give verses of Jesus teachings that they
think sway more to the right. The only one I can think of is the give unto Caesars what is Caesars one, but if thats it, its very far
outweighed.
For starters:
Jesus of course never much cared for the loud religious types. He called them hypocrites.
He said in Matthew, Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he
becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are. (Matthew 23:15)
The famous quote:
If you have two cloaks
and your brother has none, give him one of yours
We have the simple teaching of love one another as I have loved you which pretty much encapsulates all of Jesus teachings. The people he reached
out to, spoke out for and helped the most was the poor. That was how he wanted us to be. He didnt blame the poor for being poor, or tell them to
pull their socks up and get a job or tell them it was their fault etc. He dedicated his entire life to helping the sick and poor. He endeavoured to
bring about equality among people. Jesus was not only a prominent religious figure of his time, but he was also very much involved in the politics of
economic inequality:
"Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
All the believers were one heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. There were
no needy persons among them. For from time to time, those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the
apostles feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need (Acts 4:32-35).
Oh my God! Socialist or what!!!!
Jesus really disliked the rich and he obviously loved the poor. He demanded destitution of his followers, If you want to be perfect, go, sell your
possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me (Matthew 19:21)
"whatsoever you do
to the least of my brothers, you do to Me." (Mt. 25:40).
And, my favourite Bible quote of all time:
"It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle
Than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God."
(Mark 10:17-27)
Im drunk, but I still think I have a point. I am really sick of watching the plethora of American and European right wing biblical channels and
reading bull# in the press that ignores everything he stood for while twisting everything and making their own interpretations into a flimsy
justification for anything they want to prove. To me these people are evil. Supremely evil.
Yes people, I'm afraid Jesus was a utopian socialist commie pinko! but of course, that wasn't what he
really meant to say was it?
Theres plenty more quotes from my side, I'll post anymore I can think off. I'd like to hear any anyone else can think of but id especially like to
hear some from the right. Im talking about what the Bible says is Jesus word or deeds only btw, not anything from the old testament.
