About 2 million (if you believe the figures) marched against war in Iraq, many people in this country would like to see a change of direction in foriegn policy. So the bombers and people like you are backward enough to think you can change our minds even further by bombing people who have nothing to do with the decision making.

I can agree with that but,

2 million? can you please summarize number of all western countries (so called free democratic) inhabitants and mathematically give me what is the % of people who are against the 'free democratical' war crimes, 'free democratical' war profiteering, 'free democratical' torture and other 'civilized' atrocities?

TV news is reporting that one of the cars was stolen from Scotland and that there are three people that the authorities are searching for.

I think it will be a while before we hear more news .. but this was definately a terrorist incident. No question.

been away today & havent had much time to catch up. i did notice another oddity in the reports though - the 2nd car, the blue mercedes, was towed away at 3 in the morning for being parked where it shouldn't have been and it was taken to an underground car park (where it was later found to have bomb stuff in it).

londoners, how many vehicles do you know in london that get towed to underground car parks?

Loads of vehicles get towed away like that, you have a certain amount of time to get your car back.

you miss the point - being an ex londoner who once had their car towed away, i know for a fact that your car is taken to the police car pound where you can pick it up after paying a very hefty fine.

it DOESN'T get taken to an underground car park and any londoner will tell you that!

I believe there are many companies this kind of thing has been contracted out to.

Do you have a list on every car pound in london then?...if not, how would you know?

My wife had to pick up her car up from an underground pound in North London, can't remember exactly where, i'll check when she gets back from work. I'm pretty sure there's an underground pound in East london too.

I have never heard of ANY impound using underground car parks as their holding area in London. I travel over to visit family quite often, and yes, I've gotten my uncles car towed a few times because I didn't obey the rules, never did it wind up in an underground car park, just a fenced in area... same way we do it back here in Canada.

As for declaring that there were 'bomb stuff' in the vehicle. A fellow student back in College was arrested at the border between US and Canada for allegedly having Bomb materials in his trunk... the bomb materials they arrested him for were the following

1: Saudering Iron.
2: Wire (24 Guage)
3: Bread Board (5 of them)
4: Various IC packages.
5: Various DC and servo-motors.
6: Assorted resistors, capacitors, etc.

Unless they were afraid of him making a flashing light on a spinning stick, there was no reason to arrest him. We are ROBOTICISTS, of course we are carrying electronic components.

His run-in with them also made the news. Luckily he was released after someone with half a brain down there realized it is indeed just a load of electronic components.

I wouldn't trust the news when they tell you about 'potential bombs' found in cars. Quite often it's just some idiot over-reacting.


Thats another thing. The whole : "Watch your back, be aware" bull... don't you realize that it doesn't matter how aware you are, shrapnel moves alot quicker than you do?
Seriously, the best thing you can do is go about your lives as if it wasn't happening. When the government tells you to be aware, they aren't actually thinking of your safety, they just want your votes.

You going about panicking every time you see a parked car, or a foreign man, isn't going to solve a damn thing. Just forget the governments warnings and get on with your life.

unknown origin, no i don't but i have looked into it and found out that (the infamous) westminster council use the CAR PARK in park lane for their car pound.

obviously then its just another of their sold off responsibilites (any londoner can tell you nightmare tales about westminster council's parking and traffic wardens).

it wouldnt suprise me if it was an ncp car park that was being used as i know they contracted out the wardens' jobs to ncp which were then forced back on the council for the horrendous job they did a few years ago.

people are filmed 300 times a day in big brother city, a.k.a london
this scare tactic will promote the all-seeing-eye as an effective method to upload law enforcement

ppl saw a suspicious car and police were called?
