Senate Subpoenas Vice President's Office Seeking Eavesdropping Documents

Senate subpoenaed the White House and Vice President Dick Cheney's office Wednesday, demanding documents and elevating the confrontation with President Bush over the administration's warrant-free eavesdropping on Americans.

Bush admin. secretly launched the eavesdropping program, run by the NSA, in 2001 to monitor international phone calls and e-mails involving people the government suspected of having terrorist links.

Government officials secretly recording others.... here we go again!
I wasn’t alive during Watergate, but hasn’t anyone learned anything?! Secrecy is the root of evil. Secrets should be kept from foreign nations and our enemies, never from our own citizens. The government must work for the people, power derived from the people, and paid for by the people. Anything else is fascism.

Secrets, lies, and corruption have no place in government!
