The DNC is a party full of utopians, people who want to see an end of private property ownership, people who want to drag the middle and upperclass down to the level of poverty so there is a classless system, people who want to end gun owner ship, people who want to down size the military so that it is weaker than any other nation's military, people who want them selves and the state worshiped, and not god. does the phrase "God is the state; the state is God" ring a bell? People like Hiliary Clinton and Ted "Jaba the Hut" Kennedy. God Help Us if Billiary Clinton is elected.

WTF do you think the republicans want to do? Give us our freedoms? Didn�t the patriot act show you that!! The Bill of Rights is out the window and a Democrat didn�t do it Bush did and you dumb #s let him, and are going to vote for him again. Soon they will get our guns.

We got nukes!!! What the hell do we need a large military for!! I for one am sick of my tax dollars going to police the world. If someone messes with us Nuke them plain and simple, and btw I hate the dnc also but for different reasons, real reasons..

BTW you wouldn't notice limits in your freedoms. Because you never go to a library and read, or a book store. Where you will see signs similar to these.


Also the fbi can search your house anytime they want without telling you.

The leading Dem candidate wants to roll back the entire Bush tax cut also, that makes me sicker. Another Dem wants to slash the defense budget by 15%, regardless of our war on terror.

I believe the whole library issue in the patriot act that you're talking about, DirtyDevil, still requires a warrant signed by a judge. (which was the case prior to the patriot act anyway). And now, when that part of the patriot act is invoked, it must be reported to congress. And, they've yet to do invoke it. I'm not supporting the patriot act, don't get me wrong, but I don't support the propoganda out there regarding it. You might learn more by reading the act itself rather than reading some group with an agenda analysis of it.

Section 215, aka "Attack of the Angry Librarians"

Section 215 is one of the surprising lightning rods of the Patriot Act, engendering more protest, lawsuits, and congressional amendments than any other. In part this is because this section authorizes the government to march into a library and demand a list of everyone who's ever checked out a copy of My Secret Garden but also because those librarians are tough.

What it does: Section 215 modifies the rules on records searches. Post-Patriot Act, third-party holders of your financial, library, travel, video rental, phone, medical, church, synagogue, and mosque records can be searched without your knowledge or consent, providing the government says it's trying to protect against terrorism.

The law before and how it changed: Previously the government needed at least a warrant and probable cause to access private records. The Fourth Amendment, Title III of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, and case law provided that if the state wished to search you, it needed to show probable cause that a crime had been committed and to obtain a warrant from a neutral judge. Under FISA�the 1978 act authorizing warrantless surveillance so long as the primary purpose was to obtain foreign intelligence information�that was somewhat eroded, but there remained judicial oversight. And under FISA, records could be sought only "for purposes of conducting foreign intelligence" and the target "linked to foreign espionage" and an "agent of a foreign power." Now the FBI needs only to certify to a FISA judge�(no need for evidence or probable cause) that the search protects against terrorism. The judge has no authority to reject this application. DOJ calls this "seeking a court order," but it's much closer to a rubber stamp. Also, now the target of a search needn't be a terror suspect herself, so long as the government's purpose is "an authorized investigation ... to protect against international terrorism."
