Hello,
nice to join here, eventually. This was inspired by UFO sighting report published in biggest and most respected Lithuanian daily "Lietuvos Rytas" on 14th of June, here is the shord video:

www.lrytas.lt...

The sighting of UFO, filmed from the distance at the dark sky. Witnesses man and woman comments (in Lithuanian language) seeing such objects and many more of them in a plain daylight. Many times they called police to report the event. All this is happening in a small town Silute (not far from seashore). Also similar reports were from seaport Klaipeda a month ago.
No official comments are given, but it seems this time journalists took it seriously.

It seems even here in Lithuania (one of the Baltic states) activity of UFO sightings is evolving. Quite a long time ago web page www.nso.lt... was created to gather information on all the events.

I dont like to play "skeptic's advocate".

But that just looks like Venus, its not even moving. The rate at which it changes position is relative to the time period for Venus moving across the early evening sky.

I would have to say Venus on this one im afraid. I could be wrong though, there maybe something i didnt see/notice.

Anyone else have a view on this one

Peace
AoN

thanks for the news link,

i'd have to agree w/ Nihilism,
the sky object pulses about like planet Venus does,
and the lack of apparent motion also raises doubt that
it's an engineered craft of 'someone' or something

i also note that the witnesses license plate is clearly shown...
thats a boo-boo by the news reporter & camera man,
?? wonder if the man-wife? team are busily suing the news
for that identity theft opportunity that the news made public??

Thanks for your attention. I would agree about the video report being not so impressive - it really could be Venus.
More inspiring was the story - people claim seeing the objects (as much as 8 at once) in the sky before the dark. And more than one time. Not only those witnesses (the farmer and his neighbour) but also other citizens of the same town reported that.
But camera guy probably arrived too late to film the real objects and got only the doubtful one. It seems one photo of daytime sighting appeared on the othe page of the same newspaper:

www.lrytas.lt...

And about media buzz - in Lithuania it's not usual to make sensations with such reports, there would be no success in our country with such material, laughs is most that you get. So journalists were sent there only then much calls came from region and police was informed few times. Suppose it was like that, not seeking for big story. But, who knows.
It was many times before the sighting reports were heard from Silute and Klaipeda and other sea side towns. Those farmers as you see are not wel educated, to say kindly - and have no sci-fi imagination to make up stories. It was told many people were even scared a lot to face the sightings.
