Here we go yet again. The suicide attacks that will almost surely come are "justified". And what is the "crime" why it's a book!.Sir Salman lives for over 18 years, under threat of death, gets knighthood for services to literature. The religion of constant outrage.

So basically the muslim extremists are offended and plan to attack because he called them killers? That makes a lot of sense!

It's no more outrageous than many thousands of innocent lives wasted in the pursuit of corporate profits and power.

Money and power, the religions of utter barbarity for the elites who rule us all.

There is a bit more to it than that. But extremist in all religions seem to ignore the basic tennants of thier respective faiths.

I think the whole knighting him is a load anyway. I mean has anybody actually read his books? Or better yet tried too. "The Satanic Verses" was one of the worse written books I have ever come across. if they had simply ignored him he would and should be selling fries at McDonalds.

"Lawmakers in Pakistan's lower house of parliament on Monday passed a resolution proposed by Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sher Afgan Khan Niazi, who branded Rushdie a "blasphemer." He said the honor had hurt the sentiments of Muslims across the world."
Mohammed Ijaz ul-Haq, religious affairs minister,:" If someone exploded a bomb on his body, he would be right to do so unless the British government apologizes and withdraws the 'sir' title,"
This is more than "extremists".These are Pakistan government officials.
What, countries cannot do as they will. How dare they, with their " honor" killings, rape, forced child marriage. Now thats offensive.

Pakistan is an ally in the USA's War on Terror.

Rdang. You claim to live in the USA. Go complain to Congress about Pakistan's membership as a U.S. ally if you are so worried about them.

I understand why people of any faith or politcal ideas...whatever... can be offended by something that openly attacks any beliefs that are held dear to them

HOWEVER, and this is a big however, being offended by something doesnt give the right to offend someone else. now that is easier said than done, i understand. When someone pisses me off its hard to fight off the urge to rip them a new a**hole (verbally of course). But in the end, it doesn't get anything done.

I Wish these people...(muslim extremists) and im only addressing them at at the moment because their activity is what the post is about. (so you dont have to come back with comments like...there are extremists in all things not just islam...thats a big DUH...and im not suggesting otherwise.) I wish that they would come to some sort of realization that it is really of their benefit to react in a peacful articulate manner, and not run around burning flags, and yelling and killing people like a bunch of lunatics. Anyone that has any amount of higher intellect would never take religious, political, or cultural advice from someone who illustrates behavior that suggests they are mentally unstable, or on some severe revenge trip.
so to all the starck raving mad extremists, i just laid out why noone is listening to you...so in the words of Dr. Phil (who is extreemly annoying btw) How is that workin for ya? Not so much right? Need i say more?

Kind Regards,
Digitalgrl

What makes this so outrageous is there is price on his head,by Iran.
How much do they offer for Bin Laden? Why is there no "outrage" like this for him, after all he has "hijacked" Islam.

Iran is outraged over this "provocative act". Kind of like when you capture British sailors and attempt to humiliate their country. Or like when you kidnap American citizens and hold them as spies. Pakistan upset over the "utter lack of sensitivity".You know they way they show their "sensitivity"by shooting, burning or killing with axes women if they are deemed to have brought shame on the family. Loudmouth Pakistani Religious Affairs Minister Mohammad Ejaz ul-Haq,now has "clarified his statement"saying extremists could use it to justify attacks. I guess he wiping his hands. This is an attempt by the religion of eternal outrage to censor the world.

That does seem to be the Muslim modus operandi.

Sir Osama Bin Laden.
Pakistani parliament member Sami ul Haq : "Muslims should confer the 'sir' title and all other awards on bin Laden and Mullah Omar".
Lets see what happens on friday. This can only grow."Europe and Western nations are intentionally pushing Muslims towards extremism".I think they do well on their own.
How dare the world do as it wishes.I don't know why the British didn't clear this with muslims first.
More.
"In the name of peace and mutual respect, we demand that the award be withdrawn". Or we'll kill you.

But seriously folks, is this a surprise? If you show them the truth they go berserk, and go about proving exactly what they get upset over. Islamofascism grows everyday in muslim communities. Many islamofasicsts believe that Islam is destined to rule the world, and I wouldn't be surprised if the majority held a vague concept of this.
I'm glad here in the U.S. fanatics like that get thrown into gitmo.

Britain will not apologize for Rushdie knighthood. Home Secretary John Reid : "We have a set of values that accrues people honors for their contribution to literature even when they don't agree with our point of view". "We have a right to express opinions and a tolerance of other people's point of view, and we don't apologize for that."
I agree 100%. The religion of intolerance never apologizes,so why should anyone else.

"Now thats offensive"

It sure is ,the same Pakistani government recently executed a man for the act of 'blasphemy'.
It seems 'thinking for yourself' and 'arriving at your own conclusions' is not advisable in 'extremist islam' countries.
A government murdering their own citizens because of failure to conform to the national religion is indefensible and pakistan should be made to explain its actions.

“This is the highest title for a Muslim warrior.”
The Sword of Allah.
A leading group of Pakistani Islamic scholars today awarded its highest honour to al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden.
The group says it is working for religious harmony.

You're posting a photoshopped image that contains a portion of irony that did not exist in the original.
