I'm looking into this, but I think the widget standard is evolving quickly.
Do you have any idea for a real standalone app, something in Objective-C? Maybe even something ported from Linux or another UNIX system? Preferably
using the internet, but not necessarily.
For example, the first Mac OS X application I programmed was a Napster OS X client, while it was still pretty open and before they lost their court
cases. It actually worked quite well and I was going to release it as freeware with source code included but then all the napster problems happened
and I had my own problems and it really never happened.
To really make useful ATS widgets, I think new interfaces would have to be opened up on the ATS code side to simply transfer data to a 3rd party
client, rather than just try to parse HTML responses whose formats change on a continuos basis.
