Nowdays, you've only 1 right. Agreeing with the anti-Christ liberals friends. And if you don't......

A devout Christian employee who was fired for posting quotes from the Bible condemning homosexuality lost an appeal in federal court yesterday.

The San Francisco-based U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, regarded as the nation's most liberal, ruled Hewlett-Packard Co. did not violate the rights of Richard Peterson when it fired him for posting the verses on his desk in response to company posters featuring homosexual employees, Reuters reported.

Yes, it's the librul's fault good God-fearin' Christians can't harass their homosexual co-workers with impunity...

You know, Jesus taught tolerance and love, the thing you people have no concept of.

this is an outrage. gays can express their 'beliefs' about wanting to bonk mens shatchute, but a straight man cant express his disdain for an unnatural practice? i dont believe this. AND THE COURT UPHELD IT. bull#.

The 9th circuit is the most extreme court in the land. I believe they once said their was no right, at all, to own a gun. (Does anyone else wonder why some people/courts/groups/etc have such a hard time with guns rights - yet, hundreds of years later they magically 'find' new rights? I'm babbling)

I could care less about anyone elses preference, it is after all their business but shouldn't tolerance be a two way street? Instead, it's not very tolerant of this employee's view. Another example of when the liberal left is all for free speech, but only if it fits their ideology. It's just as bad as extreme right-wing ideology.

Employees have no right to disrupt the workplace. The employer decides what disrupts the workplace.

He better go find another job.

There's a big difference between attacking a christian and reprimanding a christian who was attacking gays. Somehow, I don't think that any kind of hatemongering is good., whether it be from a christian, muslim, ect.

I don't care the source- if it's inflamatory, then he shouldn't have posted it. It's like a KKK member posting bible quotes to justify his view. Idiocy runs rampant, that's my only comment before going out in a burst of flames.

Esoterica, I don't disagree with that. But, I somehow don't think the same standards would apply in some of these workplaces if an employee displayed, say, a gay pride flag. Or, if an employer wanted to 'disrupt' a workplace by promoting heterosexuality.

Except the poster wasn't promoting gayness, it was promoting diversity. The Bible quotes were a direct attack on the lifestyle of some employees. There's a difference.

Well I can't say that I am suprised. I can say that I am pissed off but a similar thing is going on at my workplace.

A gay co-worker of mine has his homepage set to a gay porn site and everyone knows it but no one will do anything about it because it could possibly infringe on his right to be gay. But if I pulled up a porn site I would be fired on the spot. True story here, Read it and weep the world has become ultra politically correct.

Let me start posting PRO-SLAVERY quotes from the Bible all over the place too then. The Bible is full of messages from "God". And we all know he is a Hater, Ignorant, Vengeful, Evil, and Controlling entity. If you post something from a book written to worship some SOB controller, expect repercussions!

Actually, eh can be fired. I bet it's just your employer's worry about keeping him from playing the sexuality card in court, turning around and trying to sue them. That's wrong, these lines in the sand tend to be fickle.

so now the excuse is promoting diversity. I can deem what i find offensive, and posters promoting gay behaviours of any form i find extremely offensive, and distasteful, especially were i to have to encouter it daily in the workplace. i think the christian was fully in the right here.

so let me get this straight here. you can post a gay pride flag, an obviously gay promoting poster or picture, but i cannot post a quote from my scripture which has the opposing view of your poster? wtf? double standards dont cut it pal.
so what youre saying is that youre gay, or support gays, and you dont like the idea that maybe other people or religions dont share your views? and you expect them to be punished for expressing their FREE SPEECH AND FREE RELIGION rights?

Oh yes, this is such an injustice to Christians. I mean, we're talking about the same Christians, right? The ones who burned the witches, converted at swordpoint in the Crusades, and who all but run America today? Those Christians right?

Before you piss and moan about "injustices" being done to you, perhaps you should ask yourself if you deserve any rights, after the utter violence and hatred Christianity causes other religions.

before you 'piss and moan' about christians being so wrong, take a quick look at the constitution for me.

Hate????? Maybe you should look in a mirror from time to time because everytime you post something it is full of venom towards Christians. You always justify your hatefulness by the crusades or the witch trials or something else that happened long before anyone here on this board was alive.

Here is one of your better quotes

Even if gays scare me, I still agree that this guy had to be fired, like he would have to be if he had quoted anti-christians or anti-jews views. I don't see what's the point of this thread.

You know I don't enforce my religious views on anyone, so why should anyone else have to deal with anyone else having their religious crap at work?

FW- If the poster had a black guy on it, and someone put up anti-black material, would you be singing the same story? It's not about freedom of speech, it's freedom to attack your co-workers and then hide behind the Bible, which is NOT legal nor should it be tolerated by employers.

LOBO- your ancestors killed someone else for their land, I guarantee it. Now go turn yourself in to the nearest jail for murder.
