Hi All,
Gus Russo has written an excellent article that deals with the apparent involvement of several government insiders and the people they interact with in the UFOlogy field.

Short excerpt:

With terrorism, drug trafficking, climate change, and ever-present pork projects on its plate, the US government, one would think, would have zero free time – not to mention resources -- to devote the supremely elusive topic of flying saucers. But, for some observers, there is compelling evidence that it does -- and in direct contradiction of its own official statements.

These federal forays into the fanciful seem inspired by the relatively new buzzwords added to the UFO lexicon, not the iconic “Roswell,” “Alien Autopsies,” or even “MJ-12 documents” of old. Those passé riddles are no longer considered “coins of the realm.” Now the most intense debates involve subjects with names like Project Beta, SERPO, Project Camelot, Operation Snow White, and Star Gate. And weaving in and out of all these alleged controversies, especially in the UFO internet chat rooms, are at least three senior intelligence analysts and one retired Air Force Special Investigator: “Tom” (pseudo.), a MASINT specialist (Measures and Signals Intelligence) with a PhD in chemistry and Paul, an aeronautics scholar interested in “breakthrough propulsion and gravity-modification technologies,” work down the hall from each at the Directorate of National Intelligence (DNI) headquarters in Washington. “Jim” (pseudo.), a physician and former CIA officer in the Directorate of Science and Technology, maintains his security clearance, and travels back to Washington often to work on classified psychological studies. Richard “Rick” Doty, a longtime friend and colleague of Jim, was an investigator assigned the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI)¹.

Read the full article at the link here. There is one obvious error in the article, Gordon Novel's "Project Camelot" should instead say "Ram Project", but other than that it is a very interesting read. His findings mostly mirror that which we ourselves have been uncovering during the course of our investigations.

Cheers,
Zep

Zep, that was indeed a worthwhile read. I would think that while some of it is information gathering by these people, some is not. It would be hard to listen in on some of these reports and discussions without forming some opinions of one's own.

It would seem as if the government knows only very little more than we do. What little they know may be of a type that would compromise someone's career, or cause a distortion of facts that could hurt some group.

I have long felt that the government knows some parts of the puzzle, but don't want to tell because they can't be sure that someone else will not use that part to solve it all, and in so doing, leave them out in the cold.

Secrets, when you only know parts of it, are very limiting. They dare not give up the part they have, but they dare not stop looking for the rest. And worst of all, they need to convince all the other players that none of the parts existed in the first place.

It would be enough to drive you nuts, and when you add to it the fact that the secret in question is so 'far out', it is a wonder that they don't go off the deep end. Maybe some of them do.

Thanks for a really good post. I enjoyed it.

OP is a decent read/link, talking mostly what the title of this thread is!

(Reached pg 50 in the alien/ufo vaults. This is the largest depot of
files I've ever seen. Still got over 100 pages of threads to go!)

Great article. Seems to indicate Uncle Sam is more interested in the phenomenon of ufology, rather than ufo's themselves. Makes sense, by study and keeping tabs on how whacko information is disseminated, and how people react to it, they can tailor future physiological operational plans to be more effective.

The government denies this just like they denied the existence of Area 51 for over 50 years, only for it to be all too real. Politicians lie as long as their lips are moving.
