[size=12]RUSH

No, not Limbaugh, and no, I'm not Canadian. I just think they are awesome. I've always loved RUSH. Geddy Lee's vocals, Neil Peart on drums, and Alex Lifeson on guitar. A perfect power trio !!!

Yup, I completely agree RUSH is just an amazing three man band! Oh yeah and the best thing to come from Canada. Been following them for almost 25 years now. Finally got to see them twice in concert last year. Just an amazing sound from Geddy, Alex and Neil.

Rock on darklanser!!!

Happy to throw in QOTSA to start for 00s.

Also NIN for something depressing to balance the distorted psych grunge of the 90s Scotsmen - and for completeness, My Bloody Valentine from whence Kevin Shields donated his own talents to the Primals anyway.

etc etc ad infinitum.

My brightest stars my inner light let it guide me
Experience and innocence bleed inside me
Hallucinogens can open me or untie me
I drift in inner space, free of time
I find a higher state of grace, in my mind
Im beautiful

I wasnt born to follow
I live just for today, dont care about tomorrow
What Ive got in my head you cant buy, steal or borrow
I believe in live and let live
I believe you get what you give

Ive glimpsed, I have tasted, fantastical places
My souls an oasis, higher than the sun

Higher than the sun.

Slow grunge sub-genre personal faves (including best songs to sample):

Roots: Box Of Fish (What Are Man's Fears)
Shoegazing: Slowdive (can't remember, they all sound the same)
Surrealist: (early) Birthday Party (Friendcatcher)
Industrial: Swans (Love Will Save You... for a bit of relief from the preceding).

Will check IH8doG out, drunk... thanks!
