NATO officials say they have caught Iran red-handed, shipping heavy arms, C4 explosives and advanced roadside bombs to the Taliban for use against NATO forces, in what the officials say is a dramatic escalation of Iran's proxy war against the United States and Great Britain.

It's a mute point whether there's much difference ?

I take exception to the original news item talking of the Taliban's war against the United States and Great Britain.

Last time I checked it was a United Nations operation in Afghanistan. You have Kiwis, Canadians, Australians and all sorts over there.

Iran has for some time claimed there was illegal arms smuggling across that border, but that seems just for public consumption. Not a pin drops in Iran without the Mullah's sanctioning it.

I see that a female Afghani Journalist and a female Afghani radio station owner were assassinated. That tells me all I need to know about the tolerance of Islam.

I don't think this will be much of a surprise even to those who adamently insisted that Iran would not support the Taliban with materials to be used against NATO. I think most knew those fighting NATO would be getting support in one form or another.
I don't think things will heat up any more then they already have though. Everyone will just keep doing what they are doing.
