Well I was just "surfin" out there and wondered what was going on at the whitehouse web site when I came across their webpage that shows videos of various members of the whitehouse staff giving tours of the place.

First up is President Bush showing us the Oval Office........

Well, the short clip is about five minutes long and shows Bush Jnr talking about the furniture, art etc.

GW Bush gives a tour of the Oval Room

I was rather "stunned", and had to watch it a couple of times to confirm my disbelief in what I was seeing and hearing!

I was left with a serious question: why does a man who has the responsibility of leading millions of people and conversing with the most powerful and intellectual minds in the world, have trouble speaking to a single camera in private.

He repeated himself TEN times that I counted all together?

Now I know many of you will laugh and joke as many of us usually do and probably think me rather innocent, but if you haven't seen this yet, give it a watch and FLAG it for others to see.

I couldn't see any strings, but maybe he needed to change his battery or take a posidrive to his neural network.

This mans intellect couldn't baffle a four year old!

If you voted for him in the last election, please explain why, because I still don't get it.

"Take me to your leader" ............"ha, ha, ha, on second thoughts............."

I can't even laugh about it... that is really pathetic. Besides his difficulty with his attention span, staying on subject, I wonder if he has the least inkling or the irony of his comments about what the president is supposed to do vs what he has done.

He definitely suffers from ADD, belated substance abuse problems and arrested development.

As a lifelong Republican I voted for him in 2000 (aplogies to Gore). I have been absolutely sorry for it every day since.

I think this video clip of dubya showing off the furniture and stumbling around will be his legacy. Btw, I would be amused to see him debate a 4 year old on any topic of the president's choosing.

Dumbya's legacy will be that clip of him crawling around the O office looking for saddam's weapons of mass destruction and making fun of not finding any.

Actually, I think that is CHENEY's job. He's the one really doing all that (IMHO)

It would have been better if the president had scripted and edited his performance, but apparently, he chose to go with a more extemporaneous format.

Believe it or not, this is the way that most of us talk. We start, we stop, we revise as we go, unless of course, we have the background of someone like Ronald Reagan. If you don't believe me, just set up a video camera in your living room sometime when guests come over.

GW Bush is not an actor and not a good public speaker, but he has led our nation through what is perhaps the greatest peril we have faced since the Civil War.

And all many people can do is make fun of the way he talks.

That's what's sad to me.

I was with you Grady up until that.... to say 9/11 is the greatest crisis since the civil war is quite a stretch.

Thing is, its not that he repeats himself, you are right we all do that... Thing is, its not that he repeats himself, you are right we all do that...did I just say that? No, in all seriousness, it is his difficulty with forming coherent sentences that worries me the most.

Maybe, but Islamic terrorism isn't and it targets the West.

So, if you're right, then we need to get it unbogused ASAP.

Don't get me wrong, Islamic terrorism is for real.

Its just not what this current administration is representing it to be. scalewise.

I want to qualify something before I continue; while I despise bush minor and his policies; what I have to say are some observations about a fellow human being. I am not attempting to bash him, rather I want to point out some very disturbing things about his verbal behavior.

Like I said earlier, the thing that bothers me the most about this video and other clips I have seen of bush minor's unscripted talk is his seeming difficulties forming a coherent sentence.

Why does this bother me? Two reasons:

(1) It shows limited reasoning abilities. Grady is right people do ramble, but for the most part we can (unless we are very stoned) complete a thought without getting lost; and that is part of the problem. Does he have difficulty thinking or is he on some drug(s), without which he is rambling and incoherent?

(2) I have seen clips of him debating during his runs for Texas governor, and they are not the same man. Physically of course they are but what I mean is if you were to splice a clip of him debating Ann Richardson next to a clip of him debating John Kerry, its night and day. The same is true between his scripted speeches and his spontaneous speech. AND it is getting worse... watch him at ground zero in 2001 and look at this clip again. The change is quite dramatic.

Simply put bad something has happened to that man. You do not have that dramatic of a loss in the ability to communicate without a cause. Yes we do lose some with age but he is not THAT old plus with all the things demanding his attention, his communication skills SHOULD be increasing, instead they decline.

The options, and I am no doctor, would seem to be a stroke, early onset Alzheimer's, damage from drug or alcohol abuse, a head injury or some other neurological disease.

Any case it doesn't surprise me the man is delusional as well. It is tragic for an individual man but disastrous for the country.

Considering all of the trash he gets spewwed on him about his intelligence, I'd say he did quite impressive in that 'impromptu' video tour.

That's not calling him a genius either. Besides, there's always the view that he is in fact an actor playing the part as a dimwit to coo people into sympathy or whatever.

I must admit that I was a little surprised to say the least when I found this.

Why was it on one of the most important web sites on the internet?

Surely they could edit, remake or at least rehearse this clip!

Or why not have someone else do it?

I agree that people naturally stutter and repeat repeat themselves, but isn't this worrying? I can only assume that this is what they WANT us to see. Another case of disinformation perhaps?

Is this all part of a larger plan to get rid of him, making him look a fool for future news reports....."Mr Bush showed signs of failing mental health as early as May 2007..."

Is this where sympathy for the devil will take hold of an ignorant American public?

I will search for more interesting clips to add to this collection.

Wow, George Bush isn't perfect at describing the significance of a specific room in a specific building and dragging it out to make it a full tour. He's obviously a terrible leader because of this!

Get real.

Would you like to comment some more, you aren't too clear as to how you feel about this thread?

I think you are either trying to defend him without saying much, or agreeing that he has a communication problem. Could you please clarify?

How can someone be a good leader if they cannot confidently communicate properly?

(many other recordings show similar traits as the one in this thread).
