Maybe I'm a cynic, but I have always thought that schemes like this perpetuate the perception of ufology as a colossal joke and money-making scam. It makes it harder to accomplish anything of value when people think that it's all about the almighty dollar.

Hey maybe it'll be a good thing for the whole disclosure thing ... with that many potential tourists in the area, a good percentage are sure to try to visit the Area 51 Base ... maybe in droves if the park is successful ... sites like ATS and other groups could organize retreats that included daytime fun and night time ivestigations ... or maybe the government will just move everything ... or kill the park ... or maybe nothing will happen outside of getting a cool new theme park to visit

To me this is a very dangerous thing – propaganda in motion. It seems like an attempt to recondition peoples thinking about Roswell.

For example, in the 70’s and 80’s if you mentioned Roswell most people associate the town with a UFO coverup / conspiracy.

So if they build a theme park, eventually future generations will associate it with “fun” and “entertainment”. A child that goes there now will grow up and take his children there – by this second generation the reconditioning is complete. Mention Roswell – they will associate it with fun and entertainment. Any serious research will not stand a chance.

It is a classical example of moving fact, to myth, to commercialism. EG: St Nicholas, to Santa Clause, to modern day Christmas.

The government has tried and failed to explain Roswell away on several occasions. I suppose now they are trying a more subtle, long term agenda.

I don't think this idea will work assuming it even happens IMO..There to far from any major cities..Most of the people that stop there are traveling somewhere else making Roswell more or less an extended pitstop..I doubt they could draw enough people there to support having a park..

I don't see what's wrong with this idea. If the amusement park can offer unique rides then the enthusiasts such as myself would go in a heart beat.

I don't know how this would be propaganda to water down the issue of Roswell. People going there would already be educated to some degree about the Roswell conspiracy. If people can't make up their own minds about what "really" happened (if they've been educated before) and are influenced to think other wise because of an amusement park? I don't know. Sounds a'tad silly to me.

This is all about business anyways. The people know they can bring in $$$. Roswell is a fascinating place for hundreds of thousands, possibly millions.

Ever been to Roswell ?

It's already a "theme-park". Low-rent as it may be, it is.

I mean, charging people to go see the "crash-site". Please.

Anyway, it's much cheaper to go to Rachel, climb Tikaboo and look
at Groom.
