I have been researching UFO's / ET's for quite some time now. Besides on this forum I cannot talk to anybody about the topic in a "person to person" manner. First let me tell you about myself a little bit..

I am a 30 year old male. I have many interests that involve the outdoors and many friends. I am close to my family and I have one child that I absolutely adore. I work in an office environment and I am a hard worker who gets recognized regularly and I get along with EVERYONE at work. Basically people like me and I consider myself "normal".

When I have free time and I am not doing something with my family or outside (or sometimes at work) I will research UFO's / ET on the computer/library. The problem lies in the fact that I cannot discuss my thoughts or opinions with even one single friend or family member. Probably 80% say something like "here we go again" [que I roll] and maybe 20% get ANGRY. For me this is a source of frustraion on a few different levels.

First, I would love to be able to bounce things off somebody and also get their opinions (even if they do not agree/believe). Second, this really makes me wonder if people have the ability (or will allow themselves) to think outside the box or think about something that is not American Idol, etc. IMO there have been too many reports/sightings for every single one to be false. I have NEVER seen a UFO/ET and I don't know if I ever will but if forced to choose if they exist and have been to earth I would choose yes they have.

The bottom line is that I feel there may be no hope for "Disclosure" if UFO's/ET's are real because in my experience most people are not willing to learn about the subject. Does anybody else have this lack of communication or unwillingness to discuss this topic. I do not feel crazy but the way I get looked at makes me wonder. Thanks ATS.

Im a bit unsure why anyone would really react funny to the UFO/ET subject as its pretty common and tame by most standards these days, i think there is a weird reaction from some individuals on topics that stray too far from the norm and certainly anything that causes any concern like many conspiracies do, its sometimes funny but actually a bit sad to see how some people react to these things, especially when its as tame as UFO/ET's.

I get the "here we go again" look too. Not as much as I used to 'cos I've learned to keep my trap shut. Also, my partner, a total skeptic, was with me when I had the best (closest) UFO sighting ever. Thanks goodness for the internet though, don't know what I'd do without it.

Moserious, don't fret about it too much, thats why The Three Amigos created ATS. A place where like minded individuals can congregate and share their views and opinions without the threat of the good old 'here we go again' responses.

I believe many people are interested in UFO's but the vast majority take this stance to distance themselves in fear of ridicule. UFO's are becoming more mainstream and I believe that one day this sort of topic won't be brushed off and we can talk freely.

Sounds a lot like me. I too am interested in the abnormal and have no one to share discoveries or opions with. My family jokes about my findings to a point where I wish I could prove to them hard concrete evidence. Sometimes I feel I am the only one who is awake.

I'm 58 and somewhat in the same boat.

I have told "things" to 2 of my daughters and nothing to the other.... she isn't even close to being ready to know what her Mom is all about.

I have 7 Grandkids and I have said things since they were young so they don't think any different and feel okay.

I have had these beings in my home(s) of course they just come when they want. They have had contact with my 2 Granddaughters but I don't know about the boys, I never observed it. (I have 5 of the 7 Grandkids with me)

I have one special friend I have known for decades and I can talk to her, she is the only person I can honestly talk to and feel good about it. I also have people that don't want to hear it or think I am being silly.

How do I tell me family that the soul within me was sent here by the Elder's to help the human race when it is time. Makes me sound silly/crazy doesn't it.

Maybe I would have been better off if they didn't allow me to remember why I am here.

I thank the guys for making this site available for free for us. There are so many of us all over this planet and we do need a place to talk.

hi Moserious
i hear you
all of my mates used to laugh at me or i would get the "not again" and the "prove it" so, i showed them the videos i have downloaded over the years and they were amazed. i admit that some of the videos i showed them have since been proven fakes and i havent said anything about it
.... i got them interested on the UFO subject and i didnt think it would be good to say, "sorry some of the vids were fakes"
they dont laugh so hard these days when i talk about it

anyway

i have believed in alien life and UFOs since i was a little boy (i am now in my 40s) and i think the truth is coming very soon.
i have never seen a UFO but as you said, there are too many sightings for it to be all a big hoax. as for thinking, earth is the only planet with life on it, is just stupid and small minded.

you wanted to bounce a few things around and so do i.

if aliens are visiting our planet, why have they contacted (billy not included here) so few people and told them few people "we are here to help save your planet" and "we need to stop doing this, that and the other before we are all killed". dont get me wrong here, i am not mocking but if mr. alien and his 3 mates have travelled from the far side of the universe to warn us of the harm we are doing, why the hell do they just tell a select few and not millions of people. they cannot be in that big of a hurry to exit the planet.
i know i would spend a bit of time looking at a new planet and the life living on it and if that life was intelligent, i would do everything possible to make contact with as many as possible and NO i would not ask "take me to your leader"
but a chat and a good mug of coffee and a smoke would be nice with the locals
and if they have came all this way to help us save our planet, when are they gonna start, because if they dont start soon, the goverments of this world are gonna kill us all.

like i said, i do believe that we have aliens visiting our little planet, i just do not understand why the little gits are acting the way they are, some of the UFOs just float around in the sky for an hour and then speed off into space at mach-lightspeed ffs
come on down and take the weight off your face for a while and meet a few locals.

hopefully i will get an answer soon

but the little gits need to stop being silly about this and say hello to us all

good luck Moserious

I feel exactly the same way. It's ashame that so many people can't bring themselves to open their minds.

that's why I started my no hope thread a while back now...pretty much dead, but anyhow...I only have one friend that I'm able to talk about this subject matter about without a weird look or an extra long sigh, gets kind of frustrating but that's why I'm so drawn to this place. save for the few "that pic is clearly photoshopped" people, still, I enjoy it here, IMHO we are NOT alone.

I totally agree. People dont seem to understand the significance. Even if its all a scam and they arent here it is so earth-shaking that it cannot and should not be ignored. Yet people when approached with this subject seem to either not care, or they are closed minded and refuse to accept something that could turn their world upside down and cause them to re-evaluate their beliefs. In my experience these people always brush the subject off, or dont seem at all interested.

I have had slight success in approaching certain close peers, after showing them lots of ufo videos online. Mind you 19 year olds are probably more inclined to show an interest than other age groups. However, their interest waned fast and they never really seemed hungry for more information, they never did the hours of video watching and website searching like many of us here on ats.

I have always held the belief that you cant show someone the truth, but you can set them on the right path. They have to want it though...

I agree with you. I share your pain. I even share Mysterioso's pain. It's just not fair. You want to talk about what to you is a very important subject, and then people blow you off. Then you come here thinking you will be among like-minded people, and much to your horror and disgust, some people don't agree with you. Some people even have the gall to point out the fakes.

I feel the same way. I do have a slightly different take on it. I come here and see people fooled by the most basic stuff and shake my head in horror and disgust as well. There are people ere who insist the garbage can UFO is real and the Billy Meier Ray Gun is real. There are people who absolutely insist a moth is an angelic being or that Bob Lazar got himself disappeared by the big bad government.

And yet we've got some really good stuff that has not been debunked at all and that could be a focus of our attention:

Roswell
Kecksburg
Cash/Landrum
JAL 747 in Alaska

That's just a few. Excellent, solid cases, big cases no one has explained. Government has been involved. Solid witnesses. talk about smoking guns. These are hot! We are not alone. Absolutely not! I agree!

But what do we talk about? There are cities on Venus, you know. They're hidden by the cloud cover. And the moon has a breathable atmosphere. There ae cities there, too. The moon landings were fake, but we've been on Mars, not to mention Europa, since the sixties. And there are vast underground bases filled by reptilians who will eat us as soon as the big bad government transports us down there. And many people talk to aliens all the time, have sex with them, after which they are told global truths. There's a planet called Clarion opposite us in the same orbit. The sun blocks it so we can't see it. It has a worldwide civilization of really nice people. They are all Christian and attend church on Sundays. And, they speak perfect English, albeit always in rhyme. Their space pilots wear hot short red dresses and have great legs.

Hey, wanna talk about Cash/Landrum? No, that's too boring. The greys slip in and out of dimensions and travel in time. Billy Meier traveled through time and got a picture of a dinosaur. That's way more exciting.

How bout that JAL 747? They got it on tape, on radar, eyewitnesses, everything! No, that's not very interestng. An ET flew through my window last night and thanked me for helping to expose the New World Order fascist pig dog masonic Rockefellers who hold all real power in the world.

Hey, Roswell is cool. Some of the stuff is fake, but there's some pretty solid evidence from dozens of witnesses. No, Friedman is a has been who never talks about anything else. he's a well-known dis-information agent owned by the government.

So believe me, I understand your frustration. It's also frustrating for me to talk to outsiders who have heard all this and equate Roswell with Venusian cities. I can't say as I blame them, bit I wish they would look serious at the good cases we have and be able to toss the bad ones. I wish that for people here, too, but they are so convinced that Billy wouldn't lie that there's not much I can do.

So the bottom line is that if you want to be with people who think like yourself, the best way to find them is in the church of your choice.

I'm lucky in this regard, as i have a mother who is very interested in 'out there' topics and is a great source of information and discussion.

Since i am the computer geek
and she isn't, i (thanks to ATS) keep her up to date on all the developments in these areas. Like, she followed the O'Hare incident with me as it developed, and she is hugely interested in the 'Chad' craft at the moment.

I just hope you all find a family member or friend that is a tad more open minded than the average joe and wants to listen.

Welcome to the club. The meadia make out UFO/Alians and the like to be a joke, as a result many people laugh of the prospect of alians/UFOs. There is are many people at my church who simply think that people who see UFOs or Alians are mental or they are just seeing things that arnt there. Theres no hope for disclosure if people think stuff like that.

Those sort of people who eye-roll and comment negativly on this subject of UFO s and such dont want to think about it or admit the existence becuz they want everything to be fine in their little own world, control their family in their own way, make everything perfect for themseleves. They dont want something as extraterrestrial as aliens come into their lives of complete normalcy. So admittance for them would probably damage their own psyche and make them question their own existence, lol. IDK i liike UFOs and Aliens and such cuz it proves we're not the only life in the universe and such. It raises questions that are logical, and the discoveries of answers to these questions would prove so much to Mankind itself. But all in all, you have to think of how the average joe now-a-days psyche is being run by. So many variables are included. Not alot of people want to be bothered with UFO stuff cuz they would think it is crackpot stuff due to their narrow perception, lack of experiance, or ignorance. Whatever the case may be, it depends upon the individuals acceptence of something beyond their control and such.

I think i probably went off topic......alot........damn.......

I dont think i am making much sense.......so my comment here is that of my opinion.

Before Windows 95 that created substantial growth on the internet most on here had no place to discuss this. Some of us know that ETs or serious black ops resembling spacecraft exist we've seen them. I have seen a very strange sighting of 2 objects going around the moon through my 5" telescope. Its very difficult to discuss with anyone but I feel free here. As far as dealing with others they are somewhat protective of what they believe in.

Yeah.. this is very true for the most part. Ive actually witnessed a couple of discs up close(50 ft. range) and can rarely speak about my experiences. Really only talk about UFO/ET stuff with my girlfriend because she's a believer but I've learned to shut up in almost every other case.

Oh yeah, there are definitely a Lot of people out there who refuse to even peek outside the 'box'. My friend, the Scientist, is such a person. As I was discussing UFOs with him with a fiery passion, trying to at least get him interested enough to form his own opinion (which is always my goal), he proclaimed that "The likelyhood of UFOs being real is 99.999, infinity of 9s, and then a 0 percent likely", which I've later found out is about as bad a statement any scientist can say about anything. Just 2 days ago I showed him the, to me, best looking video in UFO history, the HQ France UFO video that just surfaced and his comment was "It looked like something that could easily have been photoshopped". Not only is there no indication what-so-ever of it being fake, but photoshop isn't exactly used for video editing. *smirk*

So yeah, you'll have a hard time getting people interested, and you'll see a lot of stupid explanations for them not being so, even among your so called 'smart' friends. So yeah, thank god for the internet.

Oh, and by the way, I tend to debunk a lot more videos than not, but that's only because I'm somewhat experienced in spotting a fake and well, I just don't want people to go believing whatever they can.

I do not like having allegations like "not thinking outside the box" thrown around when they are totally inapplicable.
This subject is one to ponder, and one to philosophise on, but do not condemn people for not taking it seriously.

I think people who do not entertain the notion of life elsewhere are close minded and stubborn, but those who do not believe we are being visited by aliens are not. They are simply basing their opinions on what they know, and until 100% irrefutable physical proof is offered, then their opinions should be considered sound. The 'evidence' offered is very flimsy, usually poor quality footage, or questionable testimony. If ET mastered space travel, and were as superior as we are told, then they would reveal themselves, regardless of terrestrial governments decision on disclosure.

It is equally close minded that people simply accept aliens are visiting, without a shred of proof. It is not thinking outside the box to blindly believe, it is simply conjecture, and often fantasy. The common notion of UFO's being little space ships is far far too simple, and in my opinion is close minded. Flying Saucers is so simplistic, think outside the box a little.

Well, I am very fortunate in that I can discuss anything with my friends and family. And only last week, one of my friends and I were in my car going to the shop and saw something very unusual and it opened the dialogue.

I have met others who after I raise the issue are reluctant to talk but once comfortable share their own thoughts/experiences...so I am not that convinced it is a case of others 'rolling their eyes' and rejecting it completely as waffle or delusional.

I now consider it is quite a 'private' matter and some people are very hesitant in coming forth.
