I think the all-time strangest kid names I've heard to date were bestowed on Frank Zappa's kids, Moon Unit and Dweezil.

I mean, honestly. Dweezil? Moon Unit?

I knew a girl whose name was Antigone. That was a pretty name.

Apple is a really common one in Hong Kong. It's a sweet name.

I like Brie for a girl, but it could be seen as a touch cheesey.

Herman is not a good name for a boy. I always want to ryhme it with German.

If me and the wife have another son, I want an X word somewhere in the name.

My dad used to tease my mother that he wanted to name me "Xanthippia" so he could call me "Xany." I rather wish they had gone that route, that would have been a great name.

he did the same to my step mother, but said he wanted to call their son Naj.

I have the strangest story of a name. This is a TRUE story.

A friend of mine is a 1st grade teacher. Every year on the first day of school she would introduce each child. She would read each childs name off her class list. One particular year she was reading the names off her list when she was dumbfounded, and didn't know what to do.
Long story short the little girls name was pronounced Sh-theeed, but it was spelled Sh-thead. Really, it is a true story.

I like the name Nicholas.

I hung out with a good friend that had the name Lightfield. I have no idea where his parents came up with a name like that.
His little sister Juliette was a bit annoying when she was 10 years old, but now she's a famous movie star.

I like simple names like Jason, Emily, Adam, Jane, etc......
I think if I had to name a boy though, I'd call him Quentin.

I've always been partial to flower names for girls. Rose, Jasmine, Iris, Lily...

My grandmother's name is Dolorosa, which means sorrowful mother. It's one of my favoriate names as well.

Boy names I like normal names, Peter, Robert, Nick, Steve, and so on.

Oddest name I always heard for a guy was Nickoli. Sounds funny to me.
